THE BLACK CRYSTAL

based on the '1970's' TV show 'Land of the lost'

The real story starts with Chapter three

Everyone thought that Rick Marshall had Made his way out of 'The Land Of The Lost" But after many long years we find out that he did not, This is the Story of what really happened.
This story will have a complete re-write.

Chapters one and two show how the show could be made again with new actors and effects and it all fit as you get deeper into the story it shows how you could even bring the old actors in if they felt like it.
The story gets moving in chapter 3.
Warning, in bad need of an edit ( I say dose a lot but mean does )
CHAPTER - ONE

Rick Marshall awoke and found himself in a new and strange place. It was a dark and damp cave that had been hollowed out into a room. He tried to turn his head but a pain shot through his neck. “My neck feels stiff as a board,” Rick thought to himself. “Where am I and what is this place? I remember now. I was trying to get the time-doorway working in one of the Pylons and then there was this shaking; an earthquake. The earthquake hit and I woke up here. “But where am I?” Rick tried to get up, and realized that he was held down and couldn’t move.
“Something’s holding me, but I don’t see anything.”

“Yes,” Elish Samore said, “The restraints were needed to keep you from hurting yourself.” “I wouldn’t hurt myself. Now get these things off me!” “ I can’t” Elish told Rick as she walked in front of him and looked into his eyes. “If I removed them you would die. Your mind isn’t fully prepared.” “ What have you done with Will and Holly?” “ They are safe,” said Elish. “They are still in the land of the lost, or at least the part that you’ve known.” “What do you mean the part I have known?” “This is of no concern to you. Now it is time for another test” Said Elish.

The room was poorly lit and Rick could only see dark shapes moving around. Rick took notice as he heard the strange footsteps of something approaching him from behind. he could here a hissing sound between every word the beast said as it spoke to Elish. “So Elish Samore is he ready?” “I have one more cycle to run and he will be ready.” “We shall see.” Shaboc held out one of his claw shaped hands high in the air and waved it to one slide, as he did this the room grew brighter. Then he stepped in front of Rick and turned to face him. “Rick Marshall, do you remember me?” Rick looked at the thing that now stood before him it was dark, almost black in color. Slime seemed to cover most of the rough looking skin the creature had. Its Mouth was long and full of teeth. In a way it looked like a sleestak.

Rick found that it was hard to look at and turned to look away. “Look at me Rick Marshall, Do you remember me!” “No, I don’t remember you, should I?” Shaboc reached out and grabbed Rick’s jaw; pain began to shoot through him as Shaboc’s grasp grew tighter still. “I will ask you once more Rick Marshall, Do you remember me?” “No I do not remember you!” “I think I would remember something as ugly as you!”

Shaboc stepped back, and, with a smirk on his face he looked over at Elish. “You have done well Elish, he has forgotten.” “Then I can move on to the next test?” “No, Just whip his mind and bring him to me.” “But Shaboc, I have been working on this formula for weeks now and I think it would be capable of sustaining a human for hours maybe even days if taken properly.”
“Once we have the Black Crystal we won’t need any more of your concoctions Elish, now do as I say!” “Wipe his mind and forget about him.”

Shaboc left the room and Elish slowly walked over to a small counter, as she did Rick could hear her mumbling. “I get the feeling you don’t agree with what Shaboc is doing, Elish.” “Silence human, you know nothing of what you speak.” “I know what it feels like to do something that you do not want to do, do I not?” “Yes, you are correct with that assumption, but you do not have the gift of ‘Mind read’ and so you can not know what Shaboc or myself are thinking.” “No Elish, I do not have the gift of ‘Mind read’ but I do know the way men think…” “ As you know Rick Marshal I am not a man.” “I heard you tell Shaboc that you were ready for the next test, it seemed like you really wanted to do that test, Is this test important to you?” “It is just a study I was doing and is of no importance.” “But it is important to you.” “Yes Rick Marshall it is something I have been working on for a long time.” “Would it hurt me in any way?” “No, in fact it could help you.” “Then Do it then.” Rick Noticed a look of surprise come over her face as Elish turned to face him. “You would let me do this of your own will?” Well You said it wouldn’t hurt me, so I see no reason not to.” Elish just looked at Rick for a moment then turned away. “I can not,” she said with her head held down. “Why not?” Rick asked with concern in his voice. “Because Shaboc told me not to, now shut up and ask no more questions.”

“Elish, You spoke of a mind wipe, I take it that you are able to make me forget things?” “Yes I can make you forget, but only from the point of which you entered the inner realm.” “What purposes would that serve?” “I do not have the time to explain such things to you.” “Well at least tell me why you want to make me forget.” “Rick, the mind sweep is not meant to make you forget anything.” “Yes with it I can make you forget, but I only use this as a starting point. You see in this way I am able to make sure that your mind stays in tact, While I clear it of the changing.”

“The Changing, what do you mean by that?” “ The elders that built this place meant for all things to be able to live here, so anything that enters through a time doorway is scanned so that their mind can be adjusted to handle what they see once they enter.”
“Let me get this strait, your telling me that when me and my family entered the land of the lost. That it changed the way we see things, Is that it?” “That is correct Rick Marshall.” “ What’s the point?” “Why would it read my mind and then put dinosaurs here?” “You don’t understand, the dinosaur were already here all the Changing dose is make them look less freighting to you,” “It is to help you adjust to this new world.” “Did it have to make them look like they were made out of clay, I mean I think I can handle just a little more than that.”

“Yes Rick Marshall, you have come upon the very thing that has given me so much trouble in my work.” “You see, I was trying to clear the effects of the Changing from your mind, To put it back the way it was before you entered the land of the lost and That was when I found that your mind had not been changed from your own thoughts.” “Elish, would you mind explaining what you just said?” “It’s really very simple, you see the land of the lost has time doorways and once something enters these doorways it scans them and adjust their minds accordingly so that they are able to live here.” “But!” When you entered you were not alone.” “That’s right, I had Will and Holly with me, Why should that matter?”

Elish drifted into her thoughts for a moment but soon returned and began to explain it to Rick “Most times it would not matter, but the time the doorways were unstable and when your family entered it only scanned the first one…”
“Holly!” “ Holly was at the front of the raft.” “Yes Rick Marshall, it scanned Holly and used her mind as a map, an image of what she could handle was formed, and from there it adjusted all three of your minds to that.” “So you’re telling me that whatever we look at here in the land of the lost, is not real?” “No Rick Marshall it is all real, it has just been, shall we say toned down.”
“Toned down to Holly’s level?” “Yes Rick Marshall, all three of you now see this place the way that holly would see it, and that is why so many things do not look real to you, but it is even worse for Holly.” “Why is it worse for Holly, Is she in more danger?” “She’s in no more danger

than you or Will, but since she entered the land of the lost she will now see you and Will and even herself From a little girls point of view, so to her you look bigger and so dose her brother Will, you see most girls look at their fathers and big brothers as being bigger than what they really are, this is normal, it is also normal that she see herself differently as well.” “Elish, why is it so important that you remove the effects that the Changing had on me?” “That is not for me to say, you will have to ask Shaboc.” “Why don’t you just tell me?” “Do not speak of this any further Rick Marshall or I will have to punish you.”

“ Ok Elish don’t get all excited, you know sometimes you’re as hard to talk to as Enik.” “What is this Enik you speak of Rick Marshall?” “Enik is an intelligent sleestak, much like yourself and….” “ Are you trying to anger me Rick Marshall?” “There are no intelligent sleestak, Shaboc whipped them all out many years ago.” “What do you mean whipped them out?”

“Legend speaks of a great battle that took place many years ago and after the war Shaboc killed all remaining intelligent sleestak in order to keep our way of life.” “But you’re a sleestak, granted you’re a slimy one but still a sleestak.” “Yes Rick Marshall we are also what you would call a Sleestak but we our of the water clan and the ones you know are from the dirt clans.” “So you are from the water clan, is that why you are so slimy?” “All Sleestak are slimy, you’re just now able to see what we really look like since I have removed the effects of the changing.” “So you’re telling me that both clans look the same?” “Other than some color differences, Yes we look the same but we do not think the same.”

“Rick I worn you that if you were to tell Shaboc that the two clan are the same he would surly kill you.” “Why dose he hate them so much?” “As I have said Rick Marshall, the Dirt Sleestak and the Water Sleestak once lived together in peace. We lived like this for millions of years but then the earth started to change and the swamps that where our homes began to dry up, then legend say that one sleestak with many follower did the unspeakable.” “What did they do Elish?” “ Legend tells that one year when they went on land for hatching cycle and never returned to the swap from which they came, they chose to stay on land. My people met them at the edge of the swap and ask them why they did not return. The Dirt clan spoke of how the way of the land creatures were the way of the future.” “And your people seen this as a bad thing?”
“Yes Rick Marshall, it was a bad thing it meant that things had changed. A way of life that had served us well for millions of years.” “But did the dirt clan try to make you come on land and live their way of life.” “No” “Then why did it mattered to your clan?” “Because Rick Marshall, to live on land was not the way of things, we were water creatures, this is not something that you just change, we lived in the water most of our lives, only going on land for hatching we were safe there and we had plenty of food there, It wasn’t until a smart sleestak came along that this changed.” “Elish you said yourself that the world was changing So maybe the dirt sleestak were doing what was right, or at least what they thought was right, there’s no way of knowing now”
“You are wrong Rick Marshall, you see while their intelligent sleestak built great cities on land we built great cities in the swap, until one day when the two sides went to war, A war that we where winning until the Dirks went into the cave, all this is it told in the legends.” “So they used the caves as protection?” “It was not the caves that helped the Dirks, it was what they found in the caves.” “They found something? A weapon.” “What they found was much more than a Weapon Rick Marshall.” “What was it then?” “Power Rick Marshall unlimited power, the Black Crystal they called it, and with it the Dirt’s received the knowledge to build the lost city and the pylons and with the pylons they created a safe world where the dinosaurs could live protected from us.” “ Well it must have worked because there is still a lost city.” “ Well yes and no Rick Marshall, you see when we were unable to get into their land, Shaboc built the energy bomb.” “He built a bomb?” “Yes it was his belief that some evil force must be giving the Dirt’s their power so rather than have it take us over as well he would just blow everything up.” “Well it must not have blown everything up, after all, your still alive?” “I was almost unbelievable but the force field was able to hold off the blast, although the very land on witch we where standing had been blown away from the planet.” “Elish I realize that I am not as smart as you but I know that Land can’t just be blown away from a planet and you still live on it.”

“Rick your race is so young and you know so very little about what makes the universe work. I am not sure if I could explain it in a way that you could understand.” “Well please try.” “In simple terms when we dropped the bomb a large part of the planet broke off and floated out into space, and as it turns out it was the very same force field that protected the dinosaurs was now protected us, our part of the earth curled over to where the land was now all around us, and now not only did we live on the land but in the land as well, you see this land is nothing more than a large cave that is on the inside of what you would call the land of the lost.”

Rick let his head flop back and closed his eye’s trying to comprehend everything he just heard.
“Elish you said that this place was once part of another world then it broke off and curled over and now you and your people live inside of this land mass protected by a force field.” “Yes Rick Marshall, that is correct.” “Then why can I see the sky and where dose the gravity come from”
“All these things are controlled by the pylons, how they do this is beyond my knowledge.” “What was the name of your planet?” “We called it Mother, but you would know it as Earth.” “Earth! You mean to tell me that the land of the lost was once part of Earth?” “Yes many years ago long before either you or I were born.”

“Elish is this bomb you were talking about what started the Ice Age?” “That is correct, it did indeed start a great disturbance that turned into an Ice Age.” “So in your haste to kill one another, you ended up killing most of your race?” “Yes many of my clan died as did many of the Dirt clan but many survived also.” “No I’m sorry Elish but none of your people survived on Earth. People have been living there for thousands of years and have never seen any of your kind, if they did I’m sure they would have some records of it.” “Oh they survived alright but you would have know them as alligators” “What, the Sleestak are alligators?” “Yes Rick Marshall, we have changed much over the years. First we began to walk upright it was a very long and painful time. Many of my clan just gave up and died, but most of us were determined to live, We went thru many other changes before we became what we are now.” “But you have big eye’s with and no eyelids you couldn’t have been alligators.” Rick Marshall I assure you that we can and are, it can be amazing what a few million years can do, Evan the king of dinosaurs what you would call a T-rex had to adapt or die.” “But Grumpy is still a T-rex.” “Yes here in the land of the lost the T-rex has not changed much, but on earth he has. You see on earth a T-rex is one of the smallest birds known, now he may like it much better but maybe he doesn’t.” “ I see your point but I still do not understand, why you had to suffer the changes, wasn’t it your clan that never wanted to come out of the swamp, why didn’t you just stay there?” “ after the bomb exploded and we were living out here in this world we found that there wasn’t enough swap for us all to live. And since this was our only way to survive we had to keep it working in order to

live and over time we changed, but we lived, not even knowing that the Dirt clan had survived until thirty-six years ago.” “You mean in all those years your two clans never crossed paths, that’s hard to believe.” “Rick Marshall you should know by now that this place in which we live, this land of the lost has many mysteries, and one of those is the fact that our clan lived at the center of this land and the Dirt clan lives in an outer level, so no our paths never crossed.”

“Elish walked over to Rick with a few Crystals in the palm of her hand, she held them in front of Rick’s chest and then moved her other hand over the Crystals. “Elish, what are you doing now?”
“I’m about to wipe your mind.” “ So now I am going to forget everything we just talked about?”
“No Rick Marshall, this time I am going to leave those memories in tack, what I am doing now is making sure that I have removed all of the Changing.” “Well I am not sure about the Changing part, but I thank you for leaving my mind in tact.” “Be sure, I did not do that for you, I did it for me.” “For you. I don’t understand, how would leaving my thoughts help you?” “Well it will keep you from asking me those same question again.” “I see your point.”

“Elish just how would Shaboc react if he knew you were leaving my thoughts?” “He just wants to make sure that all the effects of the Changing are removed from you the rest is of no importance to him.” “Why is this so important to him?” “Because Rick Marshall, your mind Will need to be free of the changing if you are to retrieve the Black Crystal.” “Why doesn’t he just get it himself?” “No sleestak can approach the Crystal, it is shielded to prevent this.” “But the water sleestak used the Crystal. Why would they shield it from themselves?” “The Crystal made it’s own shield, to protect itself.” “Against who, the water clan?” “Against all sleestak you see once the war started the Crystal began giving both side more and more knowledge to build weapons, after a while we came to realize that the Crystal wanted all sleestak killed so both sides agreed to not use the Crystal and focus all their knowledge on a way of destroying the Crystal. The Crystal discovered their plan and as a way of stopping this it returned all but two of the sleestak back to their previous state then shielded itself against both sides.” “By previous state you mean less intelligent right?” “Yes Rick Marshall.” “Then why did it leave two intelligent sleestack?”

“As punishment it left both clans leaders with all their knowledge, so that they would have to suffer with the memory of all the death that had been caused by them, and then it placed a force field between the two sides to keep them from ever being able to kill one another.” “Why would it do that, I thought it wanted the two sides to kill each other?” “Yes but once it noticed that the war had ended it knew that the two sides would not kill each other but one leader might kill the other as a way of ending their suffering” “ But they could have just….” “No Rick Marshall, No sleestak can take it’s own life, that has always been sleestak law and all sleestak live by it.” “Well they would have to die at some point.” “This is true but you see Rick Marshall a Sleestak is born with all the knowledge of its parents. It takes many years for the child to unlock all this knowledge but in time it will all return and with this knowledge the pain also returns, But only one descendent at a time will have the knowledge of the clan leader, The on thing that has been removed from this was the knowledge of the time doorway and the matrix in this way the Crystal makes sure that neither side can ever get to one another.” “And I take it that Shaboc is the descendent of the clan leader, who’s name was also Shaboc” “Once again you are correct Rick Marshall. “OK Elish tell me this, if only one descendent can have this knowledge at a time, then why are you so smart?” “I am of the first one.” “The first one, what do you mean?” “The first one is the one that first came on land and decided to stay, legend says that he had great knowledge even before the Black Crystal had been found, it is also said that he had knowledge of the time doorways.” “So that’s why Shaboc keeps you here, he is waiting for that knowledge to come to you.” “I suppose that could be the case, now it is time for your final treatment.” Elish S began to pass her hand over the Crystals and slowly one began to glow and then another until all four crystals were glowing brightly, and passing her hand over them once more made them begin to float up into the air, stopping right in front of Rick’s forehead. “Elish! What’s going on?”
“Hold still Rick Marshall, I do not wish for you to be damaged.” Rick grasps his hand tightly on the sides of the table and held himself perfectly still. The Crystals began to spin changing colors as they did. Suddenly a bright and colorful beam of light came out of the Crystals and landed on Rick’s forehead. Rick looked at Elish and noticed that she had turned away. Rick began to think to himself that these Sleestak must not like bright light any more than the Dirt ones. His train of thought was interrupted when he noticed that he could feel the light beam from the Crystals, it felt as if it was entering his head, like liquid rushing around his brain, warm then cool, side to side front to back, he could feel this light, his arm began to feel heavy as they fall to his side the room grew dark and just a moment later Rick was asleep.

When Rick awoke Shaboc Stood in front of him holding a piece of cloth. “It is time Rick Marshal.” “Time for what Rick asked?” “Why must you try my….” “Ok I know what you want, but I want get the crystal for you.” “I think you will, because I am sure that you want to see your family again.” “Are you saying that the Black Crystal can get me out of here?” “Yes Rick Marshall it can.” “Well let’s say that I agreed to this, how would I find this Black Crystal?”
“Why with this map.” “I can’t see it could you bring it closer?” Shaboc looked over at Elish.
“Turn off the shield Elish Samore.” “But if I do that you will be...” “Just do as I say Elish”
Elish turned off the shield and Rick braced for the impact of death. “You can relax Rick Marshall the effects of the changing has been completely removed so you are quit safe. “One can never be to sure, now may I see that map?” “Shaboc handed the map to Rick, and after he studied it for a few moment he laid it on the small table that held the four Crystal’s that Elish was using earlier. “ I think I could find this, but I want.” Shaboc looked at Rick with sure signs of displeasure. “This thing you will do Rick Marshall, for if you don’t your family will surely die!”
“I raised my kids to be strong Shaboc. Yes it will be tough on them but my kids can handle the land of the lost, they will survive.” “This is where you are mistaken Rick Marshall, you see the moment this shield around you was let down your brain was scanned and now a new in print has been taken from your brain, one that, as you know has none of the protection from the changing.” “Tell me Shaboc, what do you mean by Protection?”

“Elish has told you how the changing made you see things from Holly’s point of view, well when we turned off the force field all that was reset in you.” “So what dose that have to do with my family?” “ Rick Marshall, you are the oldest, so this new in print that was taken from you will be given to all the Marshall’s in the land of the lost, now they will see things as they really are.” “My kids have seen grumpy plenty of times I think they can handle him.” “Yes but as long as the Changing was protecting them Grumpy could not smell or see them very well, now he will be able to, as will every other living thing in the land of the lost, I think you will find that your kids will not last long in the real land of the lost” “I get your point!” Shaboc reached down and pulled a knife out and showed it to Rick.” “I believe this is yours” He handed it to Rick, walked over to the door and turn back to face Rick. “Hold onto that as if your life depended on

it, there’s a good chance it will. Now follow me Rick Marshall there is little time and you have much to do if you plan on helping your kids.” Rick placed his knife back in its case and followed Scoared down a long tunnel much like the ones the dirt sleestak lived in, only these rocky wall where covered in a greenish brown slime and there was a foul smell in the air.

Two guards were now following Rick, Pushing him every few steps. “Move you human slime” one guard yelled out as he wielded his spear across Rick’s back Sending a wave of pain down Rick’s spine causing him to stumble and fall. The guard then stood over Rick and with the butt of his spear began poking Rick in the stomach and yelling at him. “Get up Human, get up before I decide to spill your guts.” Shaboc stepped up and with great speed he grabbed the spear from the guard. “I have plans for this human, kill him and I would have to change my plans now wouldn’t I?” “Sir yes, I was just..” “You were, just about to die.” Shaboc let go of the spear he held in his hand but it didn’t fall it just hovered there in the air under his hand, a moment later he snapped his hand forwards and the spear went flying thru the air and thru the guards stomach. As the life left him he tumbled to the floor. Shaboc turned to face the other Guard.
“Do you understand” he ask. “Yes sir, Guard human, do not hurt human.” “Yes, you learn fast, maybe too fast, could it be that the Darken has given you knowledge?” “Sir, no sir I am just dumb servant.” “Rick Slowly stood up, brushed himself off and began walking again.” “Quit a trick you have there Shaboc.” “It’s no trick Rick Marshall it’s simply Mind over matter.” “What is this Darken you spoke of?” “It when the Black Crystal takes over the weak minded” “Shaboc, Why do you want the Black Crystal?” “I had wondered when you would ask me that and the answer is quit simple, I want to destroy it. The Darken is a curse that my people have lived in fear of for too long and the Crystal controls it.”

“Well if that’s all you want, then I could do that for you.” “No Rick Marshall, it is a very complicated process, one that I must perform.” Shaboc approached the caves end, and turn to face Rick. “Welcome to the other half of the land of the lost Rick Marshall.”

Rick stepped out onto wooden balcony made from raw trees that had been woven together with vines, the balcony looked to be about ten feet wide, it had woven walls and a woven roof that ran along the side of the mountain for more than half a mile, there were bridges spanning across a great lake, and connected to another balcony on the other side, Rick Stood in awe as he looked all it, he looked up at the sky it was a mixture churning colors red, orange and even some green far off in the distance, he slowly walked over that the edge of the balcony and took hold of the railing and looked over to find many more wonders awaited him, he could see many things below but couldn’t make them out.

“Shaboc Your people built this?” “Yes, Many years ago.”
“This must be more than a hundred feet high, why was it built so high?” “My people wanted a safe place to live Rick Marshall, as do all living things.” “Looks like there’s a lot of water down there, dose any of your people still live there?” “No, there are to many dangers in the water to live there now, we have very limited space here unlike when we lived on the mother planet.” “Well I see no land down there, how do I get to the Crystal?” “It is true that much of our surface is covered in water but there is land as well. To get to it we must cross the bridge and go out the other side of the mountain from there you will climb down to the ground, you can use the map from that point, the mountain you see there is the first mark on your map.” Shaboc walked onto the creaking bridge and Rick followed a few stepped behind. The remaining guard followed behind Rick. The bridge would swing a snap a little with each step, once they hade reached the middle Shaboc suddenly stopped. “Don’t move Rick Marshall.” “Why what’s wrong, is the bridge going to break?” “Be quiet, listen” Rick Listened but the only thing he could hear was the sound of the wind as it gentle passed by. “Listen for what, all I hear is the wind.” “Yes Rick Marshall, listen for changes in the wind.” “One again Rick listen to the wind only this time he put his full focus on the wind. At first it just sounded like a normal breeze but then he began to notice the wind was not steady, it reminded him of when he was a child and his grand mother would hang out a load of sheets to dry on the line, the wind would sometimes blow the sheets and they would make a flopping sound. “I hear a flopping sound.” “Shaboc turned to Rick, and in a low voice said.” “It’s not a flopping sound Rick Marshall. It’s a Flapping sound, you hear the wings of Tekesh. She must be out hunting, Just remain still and she will not bother us.”

Rick slowly looked around as the sound came closer but all he could see was the bridge and fog in the distance, a moment later the beast come strait out of the fog and passed right over them, the wind from it’s wings made the bridge shake as it passed overhead, Rick could see every detail it had a long narrow head its mouth was at least 6 feet long it was closed but Rick could still see the rows of razor sharp teeth that lined its jaws. He felt a chill run down his spine when he noticed the eye of the beast was looking strait at him Black as night, Yes Rick knew this beast it was a Pterosaur but this one looked to be twice as large as the ones he had see before.

The guard turned and started running back the way he had come; every footstep he made seemed to echo thru the night. Rick could feel every move the guard made as he franticly ran for the safety of the caves, a screech was heard from within the fog and a moment later the Pterosaur came from above and landed right on the guard, the fog was thick but Rick could still see the guard stabbing at the beast with his spear but it was a losing battle, for with just one quick snap of its jaw the beast had removed the guards head, the body went limp but the beast still hovered above it taking it apart one limb at a time, the beast then tried to fly away with what remained of the body but dropped it on take off, the carcass fell into the water and Rick soon heard the sound of many unknown beast fighting over it in the water.

Shaboc and Rick made it off the bridge and through the mountain. Once the two reach the other side Shaboc showed Rick a rope latter that lead down to many odd shaped rock, and those led to the ground. Shaboc Pulled out a pendant much like the one he was wearing and handed it to Rick. Only his was gold and this one was gray in color. “Take this it’s a force field. To activate it you just grab and squeeze it will only work once so use it wisely. Rick climbed down the latter while Shaboc looked over the side at him and as he watched him climb down Shaboc called out to him saying. “Good Luck Rick Marshall, For now it’s Time to see what you are made of. Now the adventure begins.”
CHAPTER - TWO
Will and Holly were searching the woods for some new fruits to eat. “Where are you going Will, and why did you bring that rope? Your not planning on pulling any more carrots are you? I’m sick of carrots!” “No Holly I just thought we might need it, who knows what we’ll find out here.”

It was a hot day and the sun was directly over head Holly Looked up at the Sun. It’s glare hurt her Eye’s forcing her to look away. After regaining her focus she looked far out into the woods, and noticed the Trees, The bushes the very air seemed to be moving. Holly froze as she grabbed Her brother’s arm. “Will!” Holly cried out. Looking at his sister Will could see that she was scared but had no idea of what. “What is it Holly?” “I saw Something Will!” “What Holly, what did you see?” “Over there” Holly pointed out into the woods “Look over there.” Will Looked out into the woods but could see nothing to worry about. “I don’t see anything Holly
“Everything’s moving out there.” “Holly do you feel alright. Maybe this heat is getting to you, you know sometimes when people get too hot they see things that aren’t there.”
Holly turned to face him with a look of disapproval. “I am not seeing things Will Marshall, there is something out there.”

Will looked back into the woods only this time he did notice that everything seemed to be moving in waves. “Holly that’s just heat waves.” “Heat waves?” “Yes Holly heat waves, some times on a hot day like today, the heat rising can make the air look like it is waving around, so everything looks like it is waving with the air.” “Well why haven’t I see it before on hot days?” “Well just because it’s a hot day doesn’t mean you can see the heat waves, but sometimes you can just like today. Now come on we still have to find something to eat before dark, unless you want to be eating carrots again tonight.” “No thanks.” Both kids started walking again. Holly was still keeping an eye on the woods. “Will it look’s like it’s following us.”

“Holly its just hot air rising so it will look like it is moving alone with you, like that time when we were in the car and it was real hot, remember how it looked like the road had water on it way up ahead of us, but we never seemed to catch up to it?” “Yes I remember that as soon as we would start to get close it would fade away.” “Well Holly that was the head making the road look that way.” “Well Hot air or not, I don’t like it.” “I know, it can be spooky sometimes, I don’t blame you for being scared.” “Oh I’m not scared. I just don’t like it Can we go home now?”

“Ok Holly in a little while, I want to see what’s over this ridge, we’ve never….” “Look Will! It’s coming this way. The heat waves is coming…” Will looked into the woods and noticed that what looked like a heat wave was indeed headed in their direction.
“Your right Holly, it’s coming right at us!” “I don’t like the looks of this!” “I don’t either, come on Holly run.” The two kids began running though the wood, but no matter how fast they ran the wave just kept getting closer to them. “It’s catching up to us Will, what are we going to do.” “I don’t know Holly.” “I’m scared Will, I can’t run much…” “Look Holly over there, it’s a pond lets jump in it.” “Why?” “I don’t know Holly, but if that thing is some kind of strange heat wave then maybe the water will protect us, beside it’s all we have time to do.”
With the strange Wave only a few feet behind both kids took a deep breath and jumped into the pond and under the water they went, after about a minute both kids ran out of air and came to the waters surface, and faced each other as they cleared their eye’s. In a surprised voice Will said “Holy look” “What is it Will, is the heat wave coming back” “No Holly, Look at the sky, it all looks different!” Holly started to look up but the woods caught her eye before she could. “The woods Will, Look at the woods, it’s changed to.”
“Your right Holly it’s all changed, everything has changed” “what do you think happened?” “ I don’t know Holly, that thing that followed us must have been some kind of time-doorway.”

Both Will and Holly climbed back onto land and looked out into the woods some more.
“It’s so thick, and look at all the ferns, there everywhere, I wonder where we are.” “I think we are still in the land of the lost Holly.” “Why do you think that?” “Well, you see those rocks on the other side of the pond, I remember seeing them as we jumped in, only they didn’t have all that moss on them when we jumped in.” “Will, if this is the land of the lost then why dose it look so different?” “I am not sure, Hey Holly maybe the time doorway sent us into the future.” “Or maybe it sent us into the past, how will we know?”

“Will walked along the edge of the woods and thought for a moment, and all at once a surprised look came across his face. “I know all we have to do is find our cave and if it is caved in then we’ll know we’re in the future, but if it is not then we must be in the past.”
“Yes that would work and if we are in the past, then maybe Dad is also back at the cave.”
“You’re right Holly, he just might be, but you know we shouldn’t get our hopes up.” Holly looked at Will with a big smile on her face. “Will I know dad may not be there, but maybe he is, and maybe he is worried about us.” “Dad always did worry about us, Ok come on Holly let’s go.”

Both kids ran into the woods. It was so thick that they had to fight the vines and bushes for every step they made. Will took out his hunting knife and began to cut the vines out of their way. “We aren’t going to get very far like this, I better find another way.” Will began to look at the trees. “What are you looking for? Holly exclaimed, “I’m looking for a tree to climb.” “A tree to climb, I swear Will Marshall you are the strangest person...” “There’s one!”

Will found a good tree and began to climb it as fast as he could. “Will Marshall you come down from there, this is not time to climb trees, we have to find the cave and see if dads still there.” “Holly I’m trying to find a dinosaur trail.” “What in the world would you want to find a dinosaur trail for. “The woods are too thick so we can’t get anywhere very fast unless we follow a path or in this case a dinosaur trail, and I see one to the left of us. It looks like it would lead back towards the cave.” “Yes and it might lead us right into a dinosaurs mouth.”

Will climbed back down and headed toward the trail he had seen. “Oh come on Holly this way will be a lot faster.” “But Will what about the dinosaurs? “We’ll just have to keep an eye out for them. And if we see one we can run into the woods.”

Will and Holly kept a watchful eye as they proceeded quickly down the dinosaur trail. “Look at all the broke trees Will. What do you think could have done this.” “Looks like Grumpy did.” “Grumpy, now how on earth would you know that?” “Look at the tracks.”
“I am looking at the track.” “No Holly I mean the footsteps” Will took a few steps and showed Holly a big footprint in the ground. “Wow now that’s a big foot.” “Yea well let’s just make sure we stay out from under it.”

“Where are we Will?” “I’m not sure, but we should be close to the cave if I only had a point of reference I could use my map to tell use where we are.” Holly was looking off into the woods while Will took a drink of water from his canteen she started pushing a brush to one side to look further into the woods. “What are you looking at now Holly?
“Will, it looks like there’s a clearing in there.”

Holly pushed her way into the woods and Will soon followed. “Holly you can’t just run off like that.” “But I saw a clearing Will, it might be the cave.” Holly took a few more steps then pulled another bush to one side the clearing was just ahead so she stepped out into the open and started looking around. “See I told you there was a clearing Will.
“Yes theirs a clearing but I don’t see any cave around here.”

“A Pylon Will. Look theirs a Pylon” “That must be why this clearing is here, well at least we now know that we’re still in the land of the lost.” “Well we already know that we just need to know where the cave is.” “Wait a minute Holly, I can use the Pylon to find out where we are!” “Oh no you don’t Will Marshall, this is no time to go fooling around with any Pylons!” “I’m not going to go into the Pylon Holly. But once I know which Pylon this is I can use my map to find out where we are.” Will look at his map then while showing his disappointment he returned the map to his pocket. “I knew it. You have no idea where we are, even with your map.” “That’s the problem Holy. I know just where we are.” “Why would that be a problem?” “Holly this is the first Pylon we found. The one closest to the cave.” “And how is that a problem?” “Do you remember when we found this Pylon?” “Well of course I do it gave me the creeps.” “Well look around Holly do you remember the woods being this thick when we found it?” “No but it still gives me the creeps” “I know it dose holly it gives me the creeps also but if we had went back in time to the point where dad was still here….” “Then the woods wouldn’t look like this. I get it Will but we have to at least find out.” “Yes we might as well since we are so close to the cave but we better hurry it will be getting dark soon and we still have to get to the lost city.”

The woods began to get less dense as the kids made their way towards the cave until all at once it just opened up and the two of them found themselves standing in the clearing right in front of there cave, Holly looked up at the cave and a pun noticing that it was still caved she turned to face Will as a tear made its way down her face. “He’s not here, daddy’s not here.” Will gave Holly a hug and tried to comfort her pain gentle hug to sooth her pain. “I know Holly but Look on the bright side. I’m still here and I’m not going anywhere.” “I know Will, but I still miss daddy.” “ I miss him to Holly but at least he made it home and I’m sure he misses us as well.” Speaking of home we better get back to the lost city before it gets dark.” “Yea, I know what you mean. I sure don’t want to be going thru the woods in the dark.”

The kids made their way back to lost City; bruised and exhausted they leaned up against one of the pillars at the entrance to the courtyard for some much needed rest. “Would you look at that, the lost city has changed also! “I know Holly it’s like everything has changed, but us.” “Are you sure?” “What do you mean Holly?” “Well maybe we have changed and just don’t know it yet.” “That’s just silly Holly, if we had changed don’t you think we’d know it.” “Would we Will?”

A Giant roar came from the courtyard and both kids ducked back into the woods
“Must be big Alice” Will said in a low voice. “Doesn’t she ever go on vacation, I get tired of being chased around by an allosaurus.” “Now Holly remember what dad said this is her territory and we’re the trespassers.” “Yea I know but she could share, or at least not bother use so much.” “That’s just the way…” “Will, Look at big Alice.” Alice now stood in the center of the courtyard slowly turning her head from side to side. “Wow Even she has changed would you look at those teeth.” “No thank, I plan to stay as far away from then as possible if you don’t mind.” “She’s Just standing there, what do you thing she doing?” “This is no time to study dinosaurs Will, we still have to get home.”
“What do you want me do Holly. Tell we don’t have time to play?” “Ha ha Very funny you don’t have to be so mean, you could at least try to be nice once in a while” “Hey Holly I think I know what she’s doing.” “If anyone could figure out what she’s doing it would be you.” “And why is that?” “Because your brain is the size of a walnut just like hers.” “I’m serious Holly it looks as if she’s Hunting, or at least looking for something.”
“Well what do you think she’s looking for?”

Big Alice stopped looking around lowered her head and took a step toward the kids.
“Us Holly, she was hunting us.” Holly jumped up and looked out to see Big Alice Heading strait for them. “Yea and it looks like she found us, Run Will.” The kids turned to run and almost ran into their uncle Jack. “Uncle Jack what’s going on why is Big Alice after us?” “She’s not Will, she’s chasing me.”

The two kids alone with their uncle ran into the woods. “I don’t have time to explain but I want you two to do what I say Ok.” Will and Holly were already getting short on breath as they agreed to do what their uncle told them to do. “Just up ahead there are some rocks. When we get to them I am going to try to get Big Alice to follow me. I want you to climb those rocks as fast as you can. Don’t look back just climb till you reach the top.”
“But what about you” Holly ask as she harshly grasped for every breath.” “I will be fine Holly. I know a spot I can hide and I will meet you at the top later.

There was a big snap and a tree swished by Will’s head as it fell to the ground, He looked and found that it was Big Alice who had knocked down the tree. And she was gaining on them fast. “Will, she’s right behind us” Holly screamed as terror filled her eyes.

The kids reached the rocks that led up the side of the mountain. “Ok kids I want you to climb. Climb as hard and as fast as you can.
Will and Holly started climbing trying feverishly trying to make it to safety before Big Alice made a meal out of them. Uncle Jack ran alone the bottom edge of the rocks away from the kids, but Big Alice just ignored him and kept her eye’s on the kids, who had now made it to a point just a little above her head there were some protruding rocks on the side of the mountain and both kids jumped behind them. Then slowly they peaked over the tops of the rocks to see Big Alice just below. “I’m Scared Will She’s so close.”
“It’s alright Holly we are higher than her and she can’t climb.

Alice lunged at the side of the mountain and tried to get a foothold in the rocks, her claws scratching down the sides causing chunks of lose rocks to fall. Holly eye’s got big and she started shake when on her second try Big Alice managed to get up high enough to poke her nose and top jaw up over the very rock they were hiding behind, her teeth scraped the tops as she slid back down. Holly began to scream in panic. “She’s going to get us Will, She’s going to get us, Big Alice Is going to get us!” Will turned and grabbed Holly. “No Holly, I want let her get, you.” “But we can’t climb any higher, its too steep”
“I know Holly, but uncle Jack wouldn’t have sent us up here unless he had a plan.”

About that time Jack poked his head over the side above them. “Give me your hand Holly” Jack said with urgency “I can’t uncle Jack, I can’t reach that far” Holly had No sooner finished the words than she found herself being raised up into the air by Will. Moments later Jack was pulling her up to safety. As soon as Holly was up she turned and called down to Will. “Come on Will!” “I can’t Holly, I can’t jump that Far.” “Yes you can Will, You have to, You just have to!

Will knew he couldn’t jump that far and he wouldn’t be able to climb up either and the only thing Higher was the rocks that they had been hiding behind and to use them would mean getting on top off them and jumping back to the side of the mountain, and at the same time exposing himself to Big Alice but he had to try.

Will started to climb up on the rocks when he seen big Alice lunging at him and in one swift move he kicked himself off of the rocks just before Big Alice made it there ramming into the side of the mountain she made what remained of the rocks the kids had hid behind fall to the ground below. Jack had caught a hold of Wills hand and was straining to keep hold. “Give me your other hand Will” With his last bit of energy Will Reached up and gave Jack his other hand and Jack pulled him to safety. All three held each other as they watched Big Alice below after a moment she gave up and faded into the woods. “I thought we were goners” Holly said as she brushed herself off. “You can say that again, I’ve never seen Big Alice so mad.”

Jack faced the kids and put one hand on each of there shoulder. “Neither have I , Now I want you to kids to tell me exactly what you did to cause this. “We didn’t do anything Uncle Jack honest” Then I would like to know who did, because something has gone amiss. “All we know is that we where in the woods looking for fruit…” “And we saw that Heat wave thingy” Holly replied interrupting Will. “Yes that right, Holly and I seen this distortion in the woods so we ran and jumped in a pond to escape it and when we came out everything had change, but we didn’t do anything to cause this, it just happened. “Well Kids we better find out what’s going on if we plan on ever having any peace.
CHAPTER - THREE
Rick made his way down the old rope ladder and onto the rocks. The ladder was quickly pulled up from behind and Rick realized that he was totally alone and in a place he knew nothing about. He looked at his map, found the next point he would have to travel to, and then looked around for a moment to take in his new surroundings. It was nothing like the land of the lost he knew. Water was everywhere to the right of him, and to the left was a wall of rock standing about 30 feet high and continuing for as far as he could see.
“Well I guess there’s only one way to go from here, and that’s straight ahead.”

Rick slowly climbed down the slippery rocks working his way to the bottom. Once he made it to the bottom, he took another look around. Many trees where scattered throughout the area that lay ahead, many of which were over fifty feet tall, full of moss and mostly hidden in the clouds of fog that seemed to go on forever. Rick looked back up to see if Shaboc was still watching him and noticed that the caves were now completely hidden in the fog.

“I understand now why they built it so high. It’s a good thing I have this map. I will need it more to find my way back than to find the Crystal” Rick took one more look around to set an image in his mind of this place, then he stepped down onto the ground, or at least what he thought was ground. His feet sunk down a couple of inches before coming to a stop.“What is this stuff. It looks like everything’s covered with some kind of wet moss”

Rick looked around and spotted many stones poking out of the water and thought “Well it beats walking in this stuff.” He jumped to the first stone, and worked his way across one stone at a time. After a little more than fifty yards he came up on hard ground. “Man I’m glad to see that this whole place isn’t wet.” Rick jumped from the last stone and onto the ground with a thud.

In a dash something ran across the opening up ahead and Rick snapped to attention but whatever it was had already disappeared before he could make it out. “Well there’s one good thing: Whatever it is must be more scared of me than I am of it”

A moment later Rick heard a faint squeaking sound and thought, “I don’t even want to know!” Rick started to walk and once again heard the squeaking sound. “Well, it can’t be very large by the sound of it” He stopped to listen for the sound. Moments later he heard it coming again from his right. “Wait a minute! Whatever ran by me went that way” he surmised. Rick slowly made his way thru the ferns. After traveling about ten feet he pushed some tall ferns aside and almost walked into a very large spider web spanning an opening five feet wide between two trees. “Wow, now that’s a big spider web. Glad I didn’t run into it.
”
Rick started to make his way around the tree when he heard the squeaking sound again and tracked it down to the bottom of the spider web. There he saw something stuck in the web. It looked almost like a T-rex but it was only four inches tall, it’s head looked smoother and it had long arms. It was tangled up in the spider’s web.
“Well ‘squeaky’.” You must be what ran by me so fast. Next time look where you’re going”

In the center of the web was a large spider whose body was about six inches wide, tan in color and smooth as glass. Squeaky was shaking the web in his fight to get away and the spider started moving towards him. Rick grabbed Squeaky who he pulled free. “I believe in the law of the jungle my friend, but since it was my fault you were here in the first place I guess it’s only right that I save you”

While pulling the spider webs off of Squeaky, he noticed it was wearing a necklace.
“Well it looks like your someone’s pet. I think you would make a strange pet, but then again my little girl made a pet out of a brontosaurus, and called him Dopey.” Rick placed Squeaky on the ground and watched as he ran away into the tall ferns.

After traveling a little more than two hours, he found the two orange stones that formed a large ‘V’ shape. It was the first marking on his map and he had made it there safely.
“Well that wasn’t so bad. Now with a little luck I will find these last two mark just as easily. The ‘V’ stones were up high and when Rick topped the hill to stand beside them
he once again pulled out his map to look for the next location he needed to find.
“Ok. Shows here a big open area and then a river or a lake and what looks like an island”
Rick lowered his map, before him was a large open area three hundred yards or more and beyond that he could see water. “Well this must be the open area, and there’s the river, but I don’t see an island.”

Rick climbed onto one of the ‘V’ shaped stones and took another look. “Ah, there’s the island. This is going to be easier than I thought.” As he climbed down he noticed that something was moving far off in the distance. “Sleestak. I wonder what they are carrying. Well, no time to find out now. I will check into that on my way back. I better get across the river before dark.” Then he took another long, hard look to see if there were any dinosaurs roaming about. All looked clear.

The sun was going behind the mountains by the time Rick made his way to the river.
“Only about an hour of sunlight left now. Where is that boat Shaboc said would be here” he mumbled to himself. The ferns were waist high and made it very hard to see anything along the rivers edge. After taking a few more steps Rick noticed a log lying in the undergrowth and upon closer inspection he realized there was a whole line of logs. “A raft. That must be it. Not exactly a boat but it will do.” Ferns had grown all over the raft. Rick pulled them out and started inspecting it. “Well the weaving on this end looks like it will hold.” Rick turned to inspect the other end and saw Squeaky standing on it looking at him. “No, I don’t need any stowaways thank you. Now off you go.” Rich put Squeaky on the ground and tied some ferns to a stick to use as a paddle. “Well it’s not the best paddle in the world but it will have to do”, he said to Squeaky. Then flipping the raft over into the water, he climbed on and got under way. Squeaky let out a cry and tried to follow him. He ran into the water and sank like a rock. Rick quickly reached into the water and pulled him out.

“What am I going to do with you, well I guess I’m stuck with you at least for a while”
The raft was slowly drifting towards the island and not knowing just what was living in the water he didn’t want to use the paddle any more than he had to. Rick picked up a small rock and let it bounce down the raft. “Well Squeaky. I guess it’s just you and me.” Squeaky ran and picked up the rock and carried it back to Rick. “Well, looks like someone’s taught you to fetch” he said to Squeaky. Again Rick tossed the stone and again Squeaky fetched it. “Ok Squeak. Let’s see what other tricks you know. Roll over”
Squeak just gave Rick a sideway look as he sniffed around the raft. “Well, it was worth a try. I bet Holly could teach you to roll over and sit and play dead.” Squeak laid down and closed his eyes. “Oh come on now! Don’t tell me you know that trick too. Well you’re alright little fellow.”

Rick turned and noticed that the island was just ahead, the water seemed to run about ten yards inland and the river’s bank was full of dead trees that had fallen throughout the years and begun to rot. “Well, looks like I have my work cut out for me now, and you sure want be able to walk in that, so I guess you’re going to have to come with me”
Rick picked up Squeak and gently placed him into his shirt pocket.

Rick slowly made his way across the first dead tree laying in the river’s edge. Squeak poked his head up over the rim of Rick’s pocket and began to squeak loudly. “I know you don’t like it in there but it’s better than drowning. After I get across these trees and out of this water I will let you out.”

Rick figured the water was about four feet deep here judging by the position of the three trees that were between him and land, so he figured he would try to work his way out on the limbs the best he could and just cross over to the next tree without ever getting in the water. He would still have to step in water after he made it past the third tree but the water should be only a foot deep by then. The sun was to his back as he slowly traveled inland. “I sure hope this limb doesn’t break”, he thought.

“Squeak, Squeak …. Squeeeaak!” Rick stopped crossing from the first tree to the second long enough to reassure Squeak that everything was alright, holding on to a limb with his right hand and holding his pocket flap open with his left. “Calm down boy! There’s nothing to be afraid of. We….” Rick noticed his shadow on the water, along with a much bigger shadow that was rising up above his. He quickly turned around to see a huge creature rising from out of the water. He could only see its head and neck so he had no idea what it was, but it looked like a smooth-skinned brontosaurus with sharp teeth.
The beast slightly turned it’s head for a better look as it slowly opened it’s large mouth. Rows of pointed teeth lined it jaws, water dripping off the bottom jaw as it sized up it’s prey.

Rick knew he could not run across the tops of the fallen trees and be able to work his way through all the branches fast enough to escape the beast. If he could only get past the other two trees, his only chance would be to keep the limbs between the creature and himself.

Sweeping its long neck from left to right the beast came at Rick, who on instinct dropped down into the water between the first and second tree and quickly wiggled his way under the second tree working his way through the tightly knit branches that held the tree off the ground. They scraped at his side and pain shot though him, but he had to get to the other side before he ran out of air. He knew that if he came back up where he went into the water, the beast would surly be waiting for him with an open mouth. Finally, Rick made his way under the second tree and was able to come up for air, but couldn’t rise much further because the second and third trees had fallen only a couple of feet apart and the many branches now formed a cage over him that he couldn’t fit though. Rick could see the beast’s head as it began to move in and over him. He could tell it was searching for him. He quickly hugged up close to the trunk of the tree and tried to hide in the moss that covered the trunk.

Many bugs lived on the rotting tree and began to crawl onto Rick as he hid under the moss. Squeak didn’t mind because he was having a feast eating the many unnamed bugs that ran by, showing no concern for their predicament. Rick watched as Squeak quickly zipped his head out to snag the tasty bugs.

“Well Squeak, I’m glad we’re both thinking about our survival. You’re filling your stomach on bugs while I’m trying to save our necks from the thing that’s trying to fill its stomach on US!”

Squeak just looked up at Rick and then proceeded to chomp on more tasty bugs.
“Well I guess I can’t be mad at you. At least you’re being productive while I’m standing here trapped like a rat and doing nothing about it.” Rick tried to use his hands to feel under the last tree to see if he would be able to crawl under it like he did the second tree.
“I can’t tell, I can’t reach that far, but if I move any further the creature is sure to see me”
The beast started trying to poke it’s head between the first and second tree looking for where Rick had gone. “Good. Maybe it will think I’m not here and give up.”

But again Rick noticed the beast looking for him as it’s head slowly passed over him. Moments later it spotted him. Lowering its head within three feet above Rick, the tree limbs were the only things between Rick and the Beast. It thrashed about and tried to break through the limbs by gnawing at the branches. Some would bust and splinter under the extreme pressure of his jaws, but many were to stout for him and were holding true.
Rick quickly moved back as far as he could, his back pinned up against the third tree’s trunk. He reached down and tried once again to see if he could crawl under it, pulling out a handful of mud, he knew that the tree was indeed lying flat on the ground.

The beast became agitated, biting at the branches of the first tree and pulling at them. This was the smallest of the three trees and it began to move as the beast pulled on the limbs. It wasn’t long before the beast had pulled it clear and was now trying to poke its head under the second tree to get at Rick that way. Rick could feel the rapid jarring that the beast made as it began trying to force its head under the tree. Rick decided to use the same strategy. He removed Squeaky from his pocket, then reached up through the branches and sat him on the third tree. He then plunged under the water and began using his hands to shovel the mud out from under the tree trunk. The water quickly turned dark as a mud clod filled it. Rick was now completely unable to see underwater but he kept on digging at the mud. Some of the mud would settle back in as quickly as he removed it, but he kept on working, poking his head out of the water only long enough to fill his lungs with air and then he would continue to dig. A few times the beast would be over him trying to break though but most of the time it was trying to force it’s head under the tree and get to Rick. The ground under Rick began to swell upwards and he knew it was the beast forcing his way through. Rick felt the mug slide away and found himself literally sitting on the nose of the beast. As their skin touched, the beast began to shake its head harder, trying to wiggle his way through. The mound it had created was now starting to flow over into Rick escape hole and he knew he would have to do something quick if he was to survive. Rick popped his head out of the water, grabbed one of the broken limbs, took a deep breath of air and went back under water. He then jabbed the broken end of the branch into the nose of the beast.

The beast pulled its head out and let out a scream of pain. Rick could feel its anger, its pain, and he knew that if he did not get out now he would never get out for the beast would surely kill him now. Rick turned onto his back, reached his arms under the tree and tried to pull his way through. After making it almost halfway he found that he was stuck. He reached up trying to find a branch to help pull himself through but could barely touch the bottom of a branch. Not good enough, he thought. He tried to kick off of the other tree but it was too far away. His lungs began to ache for air, his leg found a branch and he tried to push off of it but the branch just bent and snapped. His lungs began to heave for air. Rick tried everything but it was a losing battle. What a way to die. After all he had been through -- to drown, stuck under a tree and then to be eaten by a dinosaur.
Rick could feel the head of the beast as it forced its way under the tree once more and he was sure it would make it this time. Its nose was already touching Ricks shoes, and it’s teeth would soon follow the nose and that would be the end.

“No! Its not going to end like this. I have a family that needs me.” And with that Rick placed both his feet right on the nose of the beast, pushed with all he had, and the beast pushed back which only helped Rick that much more. The beast pushed its head in as it pushed Rick out.

Rick jumped up and started to run towards dry land. Squeak, not wanting to be left behind, let out a shrill squeal, then ran and jumped off the tree trunk and sank like a rock.
Rick turned just in time to see Squeak fly through the air and into the water. He reached down and once again pulled Squeak to safety. “You know Squeak, sometimes I wonder about you!” Rick placed Squeak back in his pocket and started running through the shallow water as fast as he could. The beast raised up just in time to see that his meal had escaped. It stretched it long neck towards the sky and let out a loud howl just as day faded into night.

At it’s widest point the oval shaped island was roughly a mile and there were many trees in the center. Rick could not believe all the different types of trees that lived here. Huge ferns seemed to fill every void between the trees, and vines seemed to tie everything

together. “I’ve never seen anything like this in those old dinosaur books, or in the land of the lost.” Rick approached the woods with caution. “Well Squeak. I guess you’re safe from the water now.” Rick squatted down and put Squeak on the ground. Squeak looked at the woods then turned and jumped on Rick’s knee. “Somehow I had a feeling you would do that. After all, why fight your way through when you can ride. Ok Squeak. Back in the pocket you go.”

Rick placed Squeak back in his pocket and preceded to look around the perimeter of the forest. Some trees were more than a hundred feet tall and even the ferns stood higher than Rick. Many were green and some were tan, but all of them were thick and fuzzy.
“There’s got to be a way in. I just have to find it.”

After walking for a little more than fifty yards Rick came upon an old pathway. It was grown over but it seemed to lead right into the heart of the forest and that’s just where Rick wanted to go. The trees grew so thick that they came together over the path blocking out most of the light in some places and all of it in others so that the only light that remained was coming from the opening from which Rick had entered. Since it had now turned to night, even that light was now all but gone. Rick held his hands out in front, feeling his way through. The many sounds of night creatures rang out though the night air; the woods seemed to be alive with life. But what kind of life, good or bad. This was the question that kept running through Rick’s mind as he very slowly made his way deeper and deeper into the unknown darkness of this strange land.

Up ahead was a dim light and the end of the path was getting closer. A strange feeling came over Rick and he stopped to listen. Slowly turning to look behind him, he noticed that the whole ground seemed to be moving. “What is that” he said to himself, and the movement kept getting closer. The faint light coming from the end of the path began to tell the truth. For in this light Rick could make out an ever increasing number of little eyes reflecting the light. Some of them were blue and some green while some were even red, but all were heading towards him!

Rick turned to run and noticed that the path ahead was now filling up with glowing eyes as well. Something dropped onto Rick’s shoulder but he knocked it off and proceeded to work his way down the path running as fast as he could. Many things jumped or dropped on him along the way but he would knock them off as fast as he could while running through a tunnel that seemed to never end. The sounds of snapping bones and the squish of guts came from his every step as he trod on countless creatures underfoot. Many of the ones he didn’t step on were jumping onto his legs and biting him. Rick began to fill faint, even sick. His mind began to betray him as the poison seeped through his veins,
“Must get out of this, must get out! So sleepy. If only I could rest for just a moment, would that be so bad? No, that should be alright. Ah, look just ahead. My favorite sleeping tree at grandma’s farm. Yes that’s where I would go to rest on those late summer afternoons when I was a boy, yes just a boy, a nice nap. That’s it. I will take a nice nap, then I will feel much better and I can help you with the tractor grandpa. No, wait. I can’t help you with the tractor, grandpa. I have to get out of here first.” Unaware that he was hallucinating, his disjointed thoughts rambled on…..
“But son if we don’t get this starter changed today, I wont be able to plow the north field, and you know how important that is, don’t you my boy?” Yes must plant field, must plant, have to feed the pigs….“Yes, son. The spiders need to be fed and you must go feed them. They won’t eat much of you.” “Yes, wait. I can’t feed spiders. They’re bad, must get out, how to get out, I have to… force field, I can use my force field. Rick was almost covered with creatures when he finally stepped out into the open and grabbed the necklace around his neck; he squeezed hard and fell to the ground.

Rick was lying flat on his back in a puddle of water when he awoke. The sun was shining on his face and although he hurt from head to toe, the heat from the sun felt warm and inviting. Moving hurt, so he figured he would start with something small like opening his eyes. As he tried to regain focus in his eyes he noticed something running back and forth on his chest. It squeaked and with relief Rick realized it was Squeaky. Once his eyes had come back into full focus, Rick sat up and looked around. Floating all around him in the water were dead creatures, only a few of which he could identify like the spiders and a few strange looking beetles. But one thing they all had in common was the bite marks that looked to be just the shape of Squeak’s mouth.

“Well, Squeaky. I see you’ve been a busy boy, and I thank you for that. I don’t know how you did it but you managed to kill every one of those things that was on the inside of my force field, which I see is not working anymore. I just hope we don’t need it again”
Rick placed Squeaky back in his pocket and slowly stood up. Looking at himself, it seemed as if every part of his body had some sort of bite mark. “I hope we never have another night like that again, How about you Squeaky?”

“Squeak, Squeak”

“Yes you can say that again. We just barely ‘squeaked’ through that one!”

Rick looked around and noticed he was standing at the end of a long open area with five statues lining each side of the opening. He couldn’t recognize any of them but they all stood over ten feet tall. “I have never seen anything like this. They seem to be made out of some sort of marble, but who made them and why?”

The courtyard itself was only about ten yards wide and twenty yards long. The end wall was stone and the stone had a carving of a Sleestak’s head on it. Vines covered most everything including the stone table in the center of the courtyard. There were holes at all four corners of the table and the four posts around the table also had holes in them.
“Sacrificing table there, but I wonder what the poles were for.” Rick then made his way to the end of the courtyard and studied the Sleestak carving.“Looks like words on these walls beside this carving. English words. Why would there be English words on an ancient wall, and on the other side of the land of the lost?” Rick pulled the vines away from the words and started to read.
“Only the heart of pure may enter here, do not forsake others or you will forsake yourself. If you hold onto a lie then you will surely die, do not think of yourself for you will be forgotten, for all time and time back to the end…”

Rick jumped back as a loud voiced echoed all around him.
“Why do you come to my temple and look upon my walls!
“My name is Rick Marshall, an I was sent to find the Black Crystal”
“Tell me, who is it that should be so brave as to send a mortal here”
“A Sleestak, by the name of Shaboc”
“For what purposes dose he seek the Black Crystal”
“It is his belief that this Crystal is responsible for many evil things and wishes to council with the Crystal”
“I ask you Rick Marshall, do you think there is evil in this land”
“I can’t really say weather there is evil here. I know it is a hard place to live, but I think it’s up to each person or any living thing of intelligent thinking to make up it’s own mind, and then live with those decisions”
“A wise answer Rick Marshall, tell me how do you see yourself, good or evil”
“I think of myself as a good man. I have made mistakes but for the most part I am good”
“We shall see Rick Marshall, we shall see. You may enter, but be warned. One’s heart can be a dark place, a very dark place”
The ground began to shake, as a door opened up on the right side of the Sleestak carving. Rick walked over and pulled the vines away and walked in. There was a stench in the air, the door shut behind Rick and the only sound he could hear was the sound of his own breathing. Many Crystals lined the stone wall on the right, each one giving off a faint light. The path was about a yard wide with the one wall on the right and a straight-down drop-off on the left. Rick looked over and could only see black. A deep moaning sound came from somewhere deep in the darkness. Rick could sense that he had come to a place were he should not be.
CHAPTER FOUR
Rick cautiously made his way down the slopping path and soon found him self-standing at the top of a great cavern. A narrow bridge spanned the opening then went into another tunnel. Looking up at the ceiling he noticed that to the left of him and directly over the cavern a large hole about ten yards wide going up into darkness, below him he could now hear the sounds of some massive beast as it moved around in the depts. Fog filled the area below the bridge and was blocking Rick from seeing what was making the sound. “I don’t know what’s down there but I sure don’t want you getting it all excited Squeak so until I feel that we’ll be safe I want you to Play dead.” Squeak pulled his head down into Rick’s pocket and closed his eye’s. An uneasy feeling came over him as he crossed the bridge. He was relieved when he had made it into the tunnel on the other side.

After walking another ten minutes the tunnel ended at a room that had been cut out of the rock and was no more than ten feet wide, the only thing in the room was a single yellow crystal on the ceiling that was lighting it. Rick entered the room and a stone door came down and sealed the doorway he turned around and pushed at the stone but it was to heavy to move. “What’s going on? What is the meaning of this?”

The crystal went bark and the room was pitch black. Not a sound could be heard other than the pounding of his heart. “Why do you trap me like this. Why did you turn off the light?” from out of the darkness Rick heard a voice. “It is time Rick Marshall” “Time for what?” “Time to see if you are good or bad at heart” “Well that’s just fine but I don’t see how trapping me in a empty room with the lights out will do that” “The room is not empty, you are in it” “Yes, but how is that going to prove…” “Close your eye, Clear your mind and then think about your life Rick Marshall” Not knowing just what else to do Rick did as he was told. He cleared his mind and then let his memories just start coming back in, some were good ones and some were bad but they were all important to him. “Now open your eyes Rick Marshall”

Rick opened his eyes to find that the wall in front of him now had memories of his life flashing by one at a time showing them like a video. The first one showed a beautiful women standing beside him in a church, she was all dressed in white. The second one had the same women lying in a hospital bed holding a baby. The third one had the women once again lying in a hospital bed holding another baby. “What is the meaning of this” Rick ask as he walked closer to the images. “This is your life Rick Marshal and these are the memories that are strongest in your mind, it is these same memories that make you who you are, now please explain them to me.”

Rick looked at them for a moment and began to explain them one by one. “The first one is my wedding day, that beautiful woman was my wife.” “Explain wife” “Well a wife is like a man’s other half she makes him whole, you see when humans grow up they begin to need someone there with them to share there lives with. Someone they can share things with and if they are lucky they find someone and the two of them fall in love and get married and live the rest of their lives together.” “This wife of yours was she the right one?” “Yes she was” Rick stepped away from the picture and it changed now his wife was in the hospital bed holding a baby. “This one is showing my wife holding our first child for the first time, I was so proud of her but neither one of us had the foggiest idea how we were ever going to raise a child, my mother ( The wall changed to picture of his mother ) just told use that it would come to use as we went along and it did.” “So the knowledge was already in you and would come out when you needed it?” “Well yes and no, I mean as things come up you just kind of work it out, it’s not that you have the answers but you make it work when the time comes. “Why is there another memory of your wife holding a child?” Oh the other one is from when our second child Holly was born, my wife always wanted a little girl and Holly was like a dream come true for her, You know Holly was born premature and we almost lost her.

The picture changed to Holly in a little bed hooked up to many different machines emotions ran through Rick and he went to place his had on the wall where the video played, but when he did his had seemed to go right through the wall and into the video. “What going on? Why did my hand go into the image” “ That is more than an image Rick Marshall that is a time-doorway what you are seeing is real” “So your telling me that I am watching this as it is happening” “Yes Rick Marshall, This room uses your own memories to open time-doorways back to those times and in that way it is able to show you the images.” So if I walked through this time doorway I would be back in those times?” “Yes but no one could hear or see you” “Why not?” “That was not the purposes for this time-doorway.” Rick continued to look at Holly as she clung to life and remembered just how close she came to dying and how much it would of hurt if she had died. The picture changed again and Rick jumped back when it did

“Why do you jump back Rick Marshall?” “Because of the video stop this, stop the video” “Why” “because this is from when my wife died, I remember I leave the room to get Holly Like she ask me to and while I was in the waiting room a doctor came out and told me that my wife had died I will never forget that, I will never forget how Holly cried after she heard…” “But this is your life Rick Marshall, it is who you are” Rick just stood there is shock as he watched the tragic event play out before his eye.

“How are the kids doing” “There doing fine your mothers watching them out in the waiting room” “Do you remember when we were first married. You would carry me across every puddle as if you were in one of those old Hollywood movies.” “Yes I remember” “Why did you stop doing that” “Well after Holly was born we both had our hands full, you would be holding her and I would be holding Will’s hand. But I promise you this, once you get out of here I will carry you across every puddle we come to, I will even make one right in the front yard just so I can carry you across it everyday.” “You always could make me laugh Rick Marshall, you know.. Cough! Cough! “You need to rest” “That is how Holly came to get her name.” “What do you mean?” “I remember it like is was yesterday, I was sitting in the back yard, it was a beautiful day. The sun was out and I was listening to the birds sing as they went from tree to tree in, the flower garden was in full bloom, I was so fussy about that flower garden wasn’t I?” “Yes but you had the right to be a little fussy, you put a lot of work into that garden” “anyway I was trying to think of the perfect name for Holly then I remembered how you would always act like a Hollywood star and so I named her Holly cause it was short for Hollywood and now if I think of Holly or Hollywood I think of you, and how much I love you.” “And I love you too dear now please get some rest” “I will but I want to give holly a kiss before I do, you know how hard it is for her to sleep if I don’t give her a kiss” “Ok I will be right back.”

Rick walked out the hospital room but the memory did not follow him it just stayed in the room. “What’s going on this was not part of my memory, I left the room I wasn’t there when she died” “No you wasn’t but this is not a memory this is a time-doorway remember.” “Well turn it off, I do not want to see her die” “It is not me who is keeping it running Rick Marshall. It is you.” “No it’s not, why would I?” “That is not for me to say; only you know the answer “I never told her goodbye. That’s why the memory keeps playing; it always bothered me that I didn’t tell her bye before she died. I’m getting a second chance.” Rick walked up to the wall, took a deep breath and walked right through it and was now standing beside the bed his wife’s bed. Ann could not see Rick standing beside of her; she turned away from him and towards the door. “Take good care of the kids. (Ann now turned her face towards Rick) “I said till death do us part ‘cough!’ I wanted so much to see our kids grow (Tears begin to flow from Ann’s eye’s) I wish there was more time, just a little more time…” (As the last tear falls onto the pillow below Ann let out her final breath, all went still) “Goodbye Ann. You will always be my one true love.” The heart monitor flat lines and Rick stares at the wet spot on the pillow where the last teardrop fell. Doctors Rush in and try to revive her to no avail. Rick stares at the last teardrop.
for just a moment Rick wished he was dead also, but he had two kids to think about and so he had to go on for them, if not for himself.
Rick starts to leave the way he had came but as soon as he starts to walk the room changes around him and he now finds himself standing beside of a little bed with a little girls sleeping in it, she clings to a house Robe. “What is this memory of Rick Marshall?” “It’s Holly Shortly after Ann died” “Why Dose she Cling to a peace of clothing?” “It was her mothers Robe. After Ann died we all had a hard time adjusting but Holly was only two years old and did not fully understand what happened, she just wanted her mother to come back.” Rick took a deep breath and continued to explain. “The day we came home from the funeral Holly went into the bathroom and found the rode still hanging on the wall, I had been so busy I had forgotten to put it away, but when Holly found it she clung to it and kept it with her almost all the time, the only time I could get her to part with it was when she had to take a bath and she only did that because she didn’t want to get it wet.” “Dose she still cling to it?” “No” “When did she stop?” “I don’t really remember, you know it’s strange you would think I could remember something like that.” The memory made it’s way into the living room to find Rick sitting on the coach looking like a broken man “I’m sorry Ann, I wish I was stronger and could move on at least for the kids sake, it’s just that I miss you so much.” A little voice came from one side and Rick turned to see little Holly standing there holding her mothers Rode. “You all right daddy” she said with such concern in her little voice. “I will be alright sweetie, now you just go back to bed now ok.” “Daddy are you going to leave us like mommy did?” “Sweetie your mother didn’t want to leave you…” “Are you going to leave us?” “No sweetie I want leave you no matter what happens” As soon as the words came out of Rick’s Mouth he realized that he had left Will and Holly back in the other Land of the lost. He turned and walked out of the room and back into the Rock room that he had found himself trapped in. For a moment he just starred at rock wall, keeping his back turned to the memory that still played behind him. “Why do you look away Rick Marshall?” “Because I failed them, I did leave them.” “Rick felt a tug at his Paints leg and looked down to see little Holly standing there. “What are you doing here Holly? You should be in bed sleeping.” “You need this.” Holly reached up and handed Rick the Rode that she had clung to for so long” Rick thought to himself for a moment, wondering how Holly had followed him out from the memory if she was not suppose to be able to see or here him but that faded for his heart was crumbling and he could not think strait he berried his face in the rode and burst into tears. “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry kids. I have let you down” When Rick pulled the robe away from his eyes he noticed that the memories and Holly were now gone.

The yellow crystal grew bright again lighting the room as it had done before. “I can take the memories away Rick Marshall.” The voice said “No I will keep them” “But why would you want to keep something that brings you so much pain?” “Like you said, it’s our memories that make us who we are, besides a memory can be bad and good one at the same time.” “Indeed you are a wise man Rick Marshall. And I have found you to be a good man as well. You may now choose your path.” “What do you mean, I can chose?” “You can leave the way you came. Or you came use the door at the other end it holds the Black Crystal." "Other end of what? I don't see another door here." "You will know when the time comes, but I must warn you Rick Marshall. The Black Crystal Feeds off of Anger hate and pain, and although you have little anger or hate, your heart is full of pain.” “I thought you were the Crystal, or at least the voice of the Crystal.” “NO! I am the guardian.” “If you are the guardian then why have you allowed the black Crystal to do so many bad things?” “You do not understand Rick Marshall it was my race that sent the Sleestak to Earth in the first place. The Black Crystal was a great experiment that went wrong.” “What do you mean?” “You see when people or in this case the sleestak get mad or angry they give of a negative energy. The Crystal was made to adsorb this negative energy and that same energy could then be used as power.” “Sounds harmless enough” “Yes it was to absorb the negative energy and in turn the sleestak could adapt to a new life that much faster without fighting all the time. And at the same time the energy that was stored in the Crystal could then be used as a power source once they had evolved far enough to use it.” “Then what went wrong?” “I am not sure but it would seem that while the Crystal was adsorbing all the negative emotion it was also adsorbing part of whom they came from. It short it became aware. Alive in a since.” “Why don’t you just break it up into little peaces or something?” “I would but it is now the main power source here and the land of the lost would not last for long without a power source to replace it.” “Surely there is another power source around here somewhere.” “No. There is no such power source here, I have tried to use other resources of the land even adsorbing energy from plants and animals but nothing was able to supply the power needed to run the land of the lost for very long.” “Yes I believe I fell into one of those once” “Yes Rick Marshall you did and that is how I found you.” “Well there has got to be a way.” “The only way is to track down the elders.” “And how do I do that?” “That is the hard part. You see when we were blown into space the map home was lost in the ‘Hall of Time’ I have been conserving my energy waiting for someone pure enough and brave enough to find the Map but this person would also have to be willing, I have found that person and he is looking for the Crystal as we speak.” “Then what’s the problem?” “He asked only one thing in return. That I take care of his family, your family Rick Marshall.” “My family?” “Yes Rick Marshall the man I speak of is you, only you’re much older.” “I don’t get it I’m right here right now, I can’t be in two places at once.” “Yes you can, search your mind Rick Marshall. Remember the time when Holly appeared to you asking for help and you and Will had to put the crystals back into the matrix table to free them?” “Yes! I do remember that I always wondered what happened to them, but they were the same age as us.” Yes at the time they were, but as soon as they entered this land of the lost fully, they began to age normally again.” “Now wait a minute. If they’re aging normal…” “Rick Marshall it’s not a matter of age but more a matter of time, you see Time has been running at a much slower speed in your half of the land of the lost.” Rick took a moment to adjust to what he was hearing. “Just how much slower are we talking about?” “In your land of the lost Holly just turned twelve and Will is sixteen.” ‘But holly should be closer to thirteen by now, I counted the day’s myself.” “The days are not the same either Rick Marshall.” “Ok then if we lived here how old would they be?” “Holly would be forty-eight and Will fifty-one years old.” “Well tell me this. How did another Marshall family get here in the first place?” “I did that. The time doorway you entered through was never meant to transport people. You see Rick Marshall when the land of the lost became stuck out in space away from earth we found that we needed a water supply so once a year we open a time doorway to earth and bring water in, both sides get an equal amount of water.” “The Water Time doorway is set to equally share but it was not made to transport human life, when your family came through it adjusted the best it could to preserve your life. It was my choice to save your family but I was not able to stop it from making a double of your family. I am sorry for my error but it was the best I could do in the short time I had.” “Don’t be sorry I am grateful and I thank you for saving all our lives.” “Ok if I can’t destroy the black Crystal then why am I here.” “Your family, or should I say your older family needs help and you are the only one that can help them” “how can I help them? Where are they?” “They are here in the pit. Shaboc found out that the other Rick had made it through the force field and went to find the map, so he knew that you would also be able to get through the force field.” “And so he sent me to get it for him so he could use its power.” “That is correct Rick Marshall.” “But he mush have known that once I found out what he was up to that I wouldn’t get it for him.” “Yes he knew this and that is why he had Ronnie and Bill tracked down and put into the pit.” “Ronnie and Bill?” “Yes that is what Holly and Will call themselves in this land of the lost.” “Well I don’t care what they call themselves here, they are still my kids and I have to save them.” “Yes I understand this is something you must do, and I will help you in this task.” “Tell me then how do I get to I them.” “I see Shaboc gave you the force field necklace.” “Yes but I have used it already.” “Hold it out and I will recharge it.” Rick held out the necklace and a beam of light came from the single Crystal in the ceiling and into the Necklace, Then a long Rope appeared on the floor. “Take this rope and go down into the pit, save you family and come back here.” “How will I find them down there?” “The creature you call Squeak. He is Ronnie’s pet and he can find her.” Rick left the room and went back to the bridge that crossed the cavern. He tied the rope to a large rock then picked up several Crystals to use for light he made sure to keep the colors apart by placing them in different pockets. Then he checked the rope once more and began to lower himself into the pit.
CHAPTER - FIVE
Shaboc impatiently watched four Crystals circling a doorway filled with white smoke. Elish was standing at the other end of the room intensely watching a blue Crystal. “Tell me Elish is it working or not?” “It’s to soon to know. It will take some time for the Crystal to remake itself in favor of the new imprint it is receiving.” “Time is something you are very quickly running out of Elish Now get this thing working before I forget why I keep you around!” “You can do what ever you wish to me Shaboc but it still want make this any faster.” “It better be ready by the time I get back” Shaboc told Elish as he stormed out the door.

A Few moments later the smoke began to fade away as the Crystals came to rest on the floor beside the doorway. Elish made sure not to touch the blue Crystal as she inspected it to see if the memory was still in tact. “Everything seem to be in order, but I better make sure.” Elish waved one hand over the Blue crystal and on the wall beside her she could now see the same thing that Rick had seen earlier, it was Ann standing in a church wearing a white dress. “I do not see why they are doing this, it serve no purpose.”
She continued to watch as Ann walked down the isle she could see everything as if she was looking through Ann eye’s after making her way down the isle she turned to face a young man with a smile on his face. “Rick Marshall, much younger from the looks of it.” “Elish watched Ann and Rick as they said their vales and then the strangest thing happened she put her face very close to Rick’s and closed her eye’s a moment later she opened her eye’s again and Rick now looked happier then ever. “What just happened? The Imprint must have failed.” Elish knew she did not have time to prepare another Crystal before Shaboc came back. “Everything seem to be in order other than that one black out, I know it was more than just a blink because Rick’s face changed to one of pleasure but what happen?”

Elish knew that to touch a blue Crystal was forbidden, for to touch a blue crystal was to lose oneself. There had been many Sleestak who had lost their minds because they touched a blue Crystal. “I must know what went wrong, beside it already has Ann’s essence imprinted on it so it can’t take mine. And besides if I only touch it for a second it want have much time to effect me.” Elish touched the Crystal and then quickly let go and stepped back. “I don’t understand it, nothing happen, maybe that was all it took to fix it.” Elish ran her hand over the Crystal again and the same memory began to play, only this time Elish noticed something was different.

“What’s happening to me, I have these strange…. Feeling!” The memory made it’s way to where Ann closed her eyes. Elish jumped back and spun around not knowing what was happening to her. What is this I am feeling; it feels…Good! It now makes since to me. Ann did not black out she closed her eye’s and when she did her lips met Rick’s and she felt Pleasure, I felt pleasure. And it felt wonderful. No Elish get a hold of yourself, you are a Sleestak and you are a scientist there in no room for these kind of feeling in your life.” “Elish was now satisfied that the Crystal was working properly and she closed the box it was in just as Shaboc walked in to door.





“Well Elish is it ready or is it time for me to get another scientist.” “It is ready Shaboc.” “Good I May just find another reason to keep you around.” “I only wish to serve the clan so I am thankful to be able to perform any task that you ask of me.” “ hand me the Crystal but make sure not to touch it.” “We are protected from it while it is in this box.” “After all these years The water clan will take back what belongs to us. And we will crush anyone who tries to get in our way.” Shaboc walked over to a matrix table and touched a few Crystals a moment later the doorway filled with smoke once more and he looked to Elish. “Come Elish it is time for use to take our leave.” Shaboc and Elish walked thru the passageway and entered the fog filled pit.

Rick was glad to once again feel ground beneath his feet. In the fog it
was to thick to see anymore than a few feet so he slowly made his way along the wall, stopping for a moment to take Squeak out of his pocket and sitting him on the ground “Well squeak I guess it’s time to find out how good that little nose of yours is, Find Holly, I mean find Ronnie Squeak , find Ronnie.”

Squeak took off running and Rick ran after him but it wasn’t long before Squeak had run off and left him. Rick continued to go in the direction that he had last seen Squeak heading, but he now could hear a deep moaning growl of something behind him in the fog. The path was full of Rocks that came up to his shoulders and Rick had to be extra careful not to run into
them, “Squeak! Squeak!” Rick knew Squeaky was either in trouble or had found something, he soon found Squeaky Standing beside a cage that was made out of bamboo and looked to be no more than Six feet by six feet in size. A person lay inside with his back facing him. The fur coverings he used as clothing was worn out.

Well Squeak looks like you have found something. Rick thought to himself, but before he could check to see whom it was in the cage Squeaky ran over the first body to another body lying beside of it and went to Squeaking as loud as he could. A Woman rose up and started talking to Squeaky. “What is it boy, did you find dad.” “Ronnie you know he didn’t find dad, the only thing he’s able to find in food.” “Well he found us.” “Yes well he probably is getting hungry and he knows you will feed him.” “Well of course I feed him, he is very helpful.” “He’s your pet.” “Yes he’s my pet but he’s very helpful, he’s been getting us those Crystal we need now hasn’t he.” “Yes he can do that but he sure can’t find anyone.” “Oh Bill Marshall your just jealous because you couldn’t train him and I could.” “Will when I fell into that sleestak trap he just walked right by me, yes you got a real hound dog there.” “Oh he could have found you but he probably didn’t want to find you.” “Well stop sending him after dad because he’s never going to find him.”

Rick Spoke up as he stepped closer to the cage “Oh I think he did a pretty good job of finding your dad if I do say so my self.”

Bill and Ronnie jumped up to there feet and ran over to the bars to see a very young Rick Marshall standing there. “Dad where have you been and what’s happened to you?” “Well First things First, here Holly put this Robe on you look like your cold and second I’m not your dad. Well I am your dad but not the one you’re thinking of, I am from the other side of the land of the lost.” “The other side, oh you must have been the one that saved use that time when we were stuck between worlds.”
“Yes Holly found my Holly and then she led Will and myself to you in the cave.” “Yes I remember that was when we started using other names, Me and Holly found it hard to talk about what happen so I changed my name to Bill since it is short for William and she changed her to Ronnie, she said it was her secret name, it sure did make things a lot easier to keep up with.” Bill reached down and picked up Squeak and looked him in the eye. “Well Squeak I guess I was wrong about you, you were able to find dad, I mean really able to find him.” “So you call him Squeak also.” “yea well I guess great minds think a like even if they are a world apart.” Ronnie shook the bars “would you get us out of here daddy?” “Well you can be sure I’m not going to leave you there.” Rick started to study the bars and then pulled his knife to cut away the rope that held the cage together. “I will have you out of there in a moment kids.”

About five yards away from where the cage was there was a large crack in the rock’s side, a glow started to emit from it as fog began to roll out of it. “Hurry daddy he’s coming!” “Who’s coming?” “The leader of the Sleestak, The black one.” A moment later Shaboc and Elish stepped through the Crack in the wall. “I would rather you didn’t do that Rick Marshall.” “And why Not?” “Because it’s almost feeding time and the God will be hungry.” “And I suppose your planning on feeding my kids to this God of yours.” “That is up to you Rick Marshall.” “What do you mean it’s up to me?” “Well if you bring me the Black Crystal then I will release these two humans.”

Rick turned and began to cut at the ropes once more. Shaboc grabbed him from behind a through him ten feet. Rick hit the ground hard but jumped right back up. “You will not hurt my kids!” Rick ran into Shaboc catching him in the mid section and knocking him to the ground then he grabbed a Rock while standing over him intending to hit him with it but Shaboc held his hand out and stopped it in mid air, for a moment it just floated there until Shaboc made it fly through the air crashing into one wall. Shaboc rose to his feet. “So human you think you can defeat me, well let me show you my power.” Shaboc walked over to Elish and snapped a command at her “Give me the Box.” She promptly handed him the small box with the Crystal inside.

Shaboc then turned to face Rick and opened the box to show a blue shinning Crystal sitting inside. “You see this Crystal Rick Marshall, it holds something that you value very much.” Ronnie spoke up “Why that’s just a Blue Crystal, all they do is make you sick, don’t listen to him daddy he’s trying to trick you.” “That! is where you are wrong human female, you see the reason the blue crystals makes the one who touches it sick is because when you touch one it begins to drain you, and if you hold it long enough it will drain your whole essence and what you are, who you are will end up in the Crystal.” “Ok then, Shaboc tell me what’s in the Crystal?”
Shaboc looked over at Rick once more “Why it’s someone that your dad loves very much. Someone he just seen a few moments ago, should I tell them who it is Rick Marshall, or would you like to have a little trade.” Ronnie tried to reach out and grab the box from Shaboc but he was out of reach.

“What’s in the box Shaboc!” Ronnie said in a forceful voice. “Oh no one you would remember, it’s just your mother.” Rick looked over at Elish “Is this true Elish, is my wife in that Crystal?” Elish looked away. “No dad it’s not true, you know it’s not true mother died.” Bill explained but Rick once again ask Elish “is it true Elish” “Yes Rick Marshall, The Crystal dose indeed hold the essence of your wife.” “But how, how can this be?” Shaboc broke in with his reply “Well you see while you were in the room a moment ago getting all torn up over the death of your wife, Elish here was monitoring everything you were doing, you see that necklace is more than a force field it’s a small doorway that we used to pull your wife from her time and into mine. now she is trapped in this Crystal, you could not save her last time Rick Marshall, but this time you can. Just bring me the Black Crystal and I will give you this blue crystal. Oh and one more thing I should mention, Elish being ever curious about humans took it on herself to try and heal your wife, she seemed to think her life was worth living or something.” “Was she able to?” “Why don’t you ask her yourself.” “Well Elish were you able to heal Ann?” “Yes Rick Marshall, your wife is now as healthy as a human can be.” “So you see Rick Marshall I am giving you a second chance, I am giving your kids a second chance to have their mother with them, but I grow impatient.

Ok Shaboc I will get this black Crystal for you but you must promise me that you want hurt my kid’s.” “Oh your kids are of no concern to me Rick Marshall, once you get me the Crystal you are free to leave.” “Then show me the way to the Crystal.” “Well your standing right beside of it Rick Marshall.” Shaboc removed a Yellow Crystal from a little bag on his belt held it out and it started floating up into the air. once it had made it well above them, Shaboc jabbed his hand out towards it and the Crystal exploded into a sheet of shinning yellow specks that just hung in the air lighting the whole room. Then right in front of Rick a wall of sorts started to appear, no it was more of a large box that just formed between the rock walls that formed the valley that they were standing in, it crossed it and was about ten yards wide, it looked like someone took a nice green yard and sat it right in the middle of this rocky gray valley. “You see Rick Marshall the black Crystal is here, yet it is not here.”

Rick picked his knife up off the ground and approached the invisible wall that separated the two dimensions, the walls were waving in and out and reached to the top of the large cave they were is, as he stepped through he could feel a tingle all over his body, it was gone moments later, once in the shielded area Rick noticed that he could still see the gray cavern from which he had just left and he could see Shaboc Looking intensely at him but when Rick turned to look out the other side He could not see the gray cavern but a tan cavern instead as he looked closer he found that he recognized the cavern. “That my land of the lost. This must be a doorway between the two side of the land of the lost.”

Rick noticed on a small Rock stand that stood about four feet High, a small black Crystal about the size of a golf ball was sitting on top of the Rock. “so you’re the mighty Black Crystal, don’t look like much to me.” Rick reached and pulled the Crystal from its stand. “Nothing happened, Rick stepped back out and handed the Black Crystal over to Shaboc as he handed him the Blue Crystal. Rick handed the box to Ronnie. “here sweetie put this in your robe pocket, it’s to big for mine, but don’t touch it.” “Don’t worry I want.” “You are a man of your word Rick Marshall.” Shaboc said as he made his way back towards the crack in the rock that he had entered from “And that will be your undoing, By the way, it looks like it’s feeding time.”
A very large beast was now heading towards Rick and the cage, and although it looks pretty much like a T-Rex it was about 50% larger. And had short horns on its head.

“You said you would not hurt my kids.” “And I am not hurting them now am I Rick Marshall.” Shaboc pushed Elish through the gateway and stepped through behind her. “Run daddy, get out of here!” Bill and Ronnie called out at the same time. But Rick ran up to the cage and started cutting at the ropes as fast as he could, the beast brought it’s head down and Rick jumped to one side. The beast them bit into the cage and it crumbled around Bill and Ronnie peaces of it fell and knocked Bill out. “Run Ronnie run!” “I can’t dad Bill’s hurt!” The beast roared load and Rick knew that it was about to make a meal out of his kids, he would have to do something. As the beast opened it mouth and brought it’s head down to eat Ronnie Rick jumped in front of her and grabbed his necklace, The force field came one just as the beast drought it’s jaws closed on him. The beast stepped back and began trying to chew Rick up the force field gave out after only two chews and Rick knew his time was almost up, he pulled his knife and jabbed it into the tongue of the beast as it let out of roar in pain Rick felt like his head would explode from the noise but he kept hanging one as the beast tried to work him over toward it’s teeth so it could finish him off, The beast flung it head from side to side and up and down tossing Rick around like a rag doll until once he let an arm get to close one time and the teeth raked down the side of his arm raking the skin away like it was butter.

Rick could see Ronnie every time the beast would open its mouth “Run Ronnie I don’t know how much longer I can hang on here.” Rick slid down to where half his body was still lying on the beast tongue but his legs were now down in the beast throat he could feel as the beast throat muscles pulled at him trying to suck him down into it’s stomach. As the knife began to pull lose from the tongue Rick reached into his pockets with his other hand and pulled all the Crystals out and tossed them down the throat of the beast. “ now if I can just get these out of my other pocket I might be able to give this thing a sever case of indigestion.” Rick knew he would not be able to hold on long with his left arm after it had been hurt so badly but he would have to if he was going to reach the other crystals he took a deep breath grabbed the knife with the other hand and began pulling other Crystals out with his other hand and tossing them down into the beast stomach. “Nothing happen but I tossed enough crystals down there to blow this thing apart as soon as they touch.” The knife pulled loose and Rick could feel himself being pulled down as he tried his best to grab hold of anything and everything. All went dark.
CHAPTER - SIX
Bill began to regain consciousness as Ronnie screamed “Daddy!” While looking up at the massive beast that now stood before them. “What is it Ronnie?” Bill asked he pulled himself back to his feet. “It ate Daddy! that thing just ate daddy!” Ronnie explained as she picked up a large rock and tossed it at the beast.

The Rock hit the beast in the lower Leg and it quickly lowered itself down towards Ronnie; it’s eye only inches away from Ronnie’s. The beast and Ronnie were now looking strait at each other. “What are you doing Ronnie, get out of there!” Bill told Ronnie, but she wasn’t moving. “Why don’t you pick on someone your own size” Ronnie screamed out as she punched the Beast right in the Eye.

The beast let out a loud roar and snapped its head toward Ronnie hitting her with the side of it’s head and sending her flying through the air; she crashed into the cavern wall and slid down. The Beast lunged towards her. It was at that moment when Bill noticed a sound coming from within the beast, a rumbling sound and the beast staggered for a moment then came crashing to the cavern floor it’s mouth open as it now lay dead.

Bill ran over to Ronnie who now lay on the floor motionless. He knelt down beside her and placed his had behind her head to raise it up. She was scrapped up and blood was coming from her mouth. “Come on Ronnie wake up.” Will looked around and noticed there were many figure moving around in the fog. “Ronnie please speak to me, you can’t leave me; I know we fight sometimes but I would be lost with out you, now wake up.”

Bill lowered his head and rested his forehead on his sisters’ forehead and began to weep. A sound came from the beast and Bill jumped up; his eyes were full of tears but he was ready to battle the beast to the very end. “I will kill you for what you have done to my sister, even if you eat me I will make sure I choke you to death.” Bill picked up a large bamboo stick and readied himself to do battle with the beast but it still lay there motionless. Anger swelled up in Bill and he charged and stabbed the beast right through the tongue. “Come on Fight!” Then Bill heard something that made him freeze where he stood. “Would you mind if we didn’t fight, I think that last one was enough to hold me over for a while?”

“I know that voice. It’s Dad, but how can that be?” Bill Looked into the mouth of the beast and suddenly from out of the throat a arm came up with a knife in hand, the arm then jabbed the knife back into the tongue and then he could see Rick Marshall pulling himself out while holding onto the newly placed knife. “Dad your alive!” Bill shouted out. Rick stepped out covered in slime. “Yes I thought I was done for, but I guess those Crystal I tossed in to its stomach finally touched when it made that sudden move.” “If the Crystal touched and blow up then how did you survive?” “Because I wasn’t in its stomach yet I was still hanging on in it’s throat, but another few seconds and I would have been in its stomach.” “Dad Ronnie’s hurt!”

The two men stepped over to Ronnie “What happened Bill?” “After the beast had eaten you, well after it looked like the beast had eaten you Ronnie got mad and hit it, then when it lowered it’s head she punched it in the eye and it tossed her up against the wall; Dad she hit the wall pretty hard do you think she will be alright?” “I don’t know but none of us are going to make it if we don’t get out of here soon.” “Why do you say that dad?” “You see all that movement over there in the fog?” “Yes I noticed it right after the beast went down and I ran to check on Ronnie.”

“Well unless I miss my guess those thing’s over there are some kind of Sleestak and that thing you call a beast is their god.” “There god?” Bill said in puzzlement. “Yes you see Bill in my land of the lost the sleestak have a very large pit and in that pit there is a large beast that they call god; so I can only assume that these sleestak also have a god and that must have been it that we just killed.” “So how dose that put us in danger?” “We just killed their god Bill, I don’t think they are going to like us very much, and the only reason they haven’t attacked already is that they are wondering how much power we have.” “Oh I see what you mean, if we could kill their god then they must think we have great power and that’s why they haven’t just overrun us.” “Yes but it want take them long to start testing us so we better find a way out of here and quick.


Shaboc stood in a room filled with dust, hundreds of burnt out crystals lined all the walls. At the center of the room was a small pedestal much like the one that the black Crystal had been removed from. Shaboc placed the Black Crystal on the pedestal then turned to face Elish. “Once these Crystals have been fully charged I will take back what is rightfully mine.” “Yes to finally be able to return to the waters below…” “No Elish I have no wish to return to the water below.” “But I thought that was why you wanted the black Crystal, so that the water clan could return to the other realms.” “Yes that is what I had you believe but you see the Black Crystal and I have an agreement….” “An agreement what are you talking about?” “Elish how can someone such as yourself be so smart and yet so dumb. Just think about it for a moment, did you really think that the black Crystal, the most powerful Crystal in the land of the lost would have let that human Rick Marshall just walk up and take it if it did not want to be taken.” “ Well it did seem a little too easy, so tell me then what do you and the Black Crystal have planned.” The burnt out Crystals on the wall started to have just the faintest of light coming from them but they were growing brighter with each passing moment. “The Crystal made a deal with me that if I would retrieve it and bring it to where it wanted to go then I could rule that place and no one would be able to stop me.” “You already rule the outer realms, we just can’t go there because of the changes that took place while we lived in the fog.” “It is not the outer realms I plan to rule Elish, I am going to rule Earth.” “But the land of the lost wont let you leave and beside, there are billons of people living on Earth now so you can’t rule there.”

Shaboc held one are arm towards the glowing Crystals on the wall and a light beam came from one of the crystals and into Shaboc’s hand. Shaboc then turned to face Elish and held his hand out towards her and the beam of light left his hand and hit her knocking her to the floor. “As you can see Elish The Crystal wall is already gaining power and in a few hours it will be fully charged, at that time I will have enough power to break free from the land of the lost and go back to earth once again.” “But what about all
the people that live there?” Once the Black Crystal has adsorbed all of there negative energy, they will all have to be disposed of.” Elish couldn’t understand it but for some reason she felt sorrow for the people of earth. And what will happen to the land of the lost?” “That’s the best part of this plan, as you know the land of the lost needs the black crystal in order to maintain itself, so when we leave and take the Crystal with us there want be a power source strong enough to keep this place going and the land of the lost will be no more, killing the Dirt sleestak in the process.” “I understand, thank you for showing me things I could not have understood without your great knowledge. I will go and make ready for our new life.”

Elish walked out the room and began to wonder if the Marshall’s would be all right “Well of course they want be alright, they will die with everything else here.” She said quietly to herself as she made her way back into her room of study, She found her self-pacing the room and could not make herself stop thinking about the Marshall’s and what was going to happen to them. “I can’t let this happen.” She made the crack in the wall once again fill with smoke and walked through, once on the other side she noticed Rick and Bill were surrounded by Large Sleestaks and they were getting ready to overtake the Marshall’s.

“Wait! I wish to speak to these humans.” Elish announced as she made her way towards the Marshall’s. She noticed Ronnie lying motionless on the ground. “What is the matter with this one.” “She has been hurt.” Rick told her. “I will help her.” Bill stepped between Elish and his sister and with a stern look on his face he said, “Why should we trust you?” “You are right to have these feeling towards me human but I assure you that I mean no harm to the woman.” “Well that’s not good enough!” Elish starred at Ronnie for a moment. Then looked at Rick. “Let me help.” “Why do you want to help us now? You and Shaboc left us here to die.” “Rick you don’t understand, I touched the blue Crystal and since then I have been having these strange feeling.” “What kind of feelings.” “Feeling of…” Elish turned away to regain composure. “What kinds of feeling Elish, you can tell me.” “Yes I know Rick, for some reason I feel like I could tell you anything.” Elish stepped up close to Rick and looked him strait in the eye’s “I can’t explain everything to you but please believe me when I say that I only want to help you and the kids.” Bill spoke up “Kid’s, why we haven’t been kids in years!” “Oh yes that’s right, I am sorry..” Rick interrupted Elish and put his hands on her shoulders. “I think I understand Elish and any help you can give use would be welcome.” “But dad, you don’t know what she might do.” “No Bill I don’t but I do know that she want hurt us.” “How could you know that?” “You will just have to trust me on this one son.”

Elish pulled out a tiny necklace and placed it around Ronnie’s neck, she then rubbed the necklace and it started to glow and a moment later Ronnie opened her eyes.
“What’s the matter why is everyone looking at me?” Ronnie ask. “We were just worried about you sweetie.” Rick told her. Ronnie’s eye’s got big and she jumped up and wrapped her arm around Rick neck and hugged him. “Daddy your alive!” “Yes sweetie and in a way I have you to thank for that.” “Oh daddy. All I did was give him a black eye.” Ronnie said sheepishly. Bill put his hand on Ronnie’s shoulder. “hey can big brother get a hug also?” “Sure.”
Rick stepped over to Elish. “what was in that necklace Elish?” “Oh something that had been handed down to me all the way from the ‘First one’ inside of it is a tiny piece of light crystal no bigger than a grain of salt but twice as strong as any black crystal of the same size.” “If it has such power then why don’t we just find a large light crystal and use it to replace the black crystal.” “because Rick Marshall this is the only piece here and it came from the ancients.” Ronnie started to hand the necklace back to Elish and Elish held up her hand. “No, I want you to keep it.” “Are you sure?” “yes it can help you in several way.” Elish then looked back at Rick. “Rick Marshall I am afraid that time is running out for you, for all of you.” “ what do you mean?” “as you know the land of the lost can not survive for long without The Black Crystal’s power.” “yes I know and I intend to get it back.” “That might not be possible, you see Shaboc is planning to use the crystal to break the hold of the land of the lost and then return to earth once more, bringing the crystal with him.” “then we must get it back from him now.” “I should also tell you that you can not stay here much longer Rick Marshall, If you do you will die.” “Why do you say that Elish.” “because you entered the other side of the land and as you know, it runs at a different time than our side, and if you remain here then changes will become too much for your body to handle, simply put your body will begin to try and age at two speeds at the same time and this is something that is simply can not do, and so the result it death.” “ well how much longer do I have.” “ you have already run out of time, it is the fact that you are in the fog that you remain alive.” “The fog? What has it got to do with anything.” “fog can do many things in the land of the lost and one of them is that is acts as a neutral zone for time.” “that’s why Shaboc and the rest of your clan live so high up, so that you can remain in the fog?” “yes, by remaining there it slows our aging, but we remained there for too long and now even we can not come down out of the mountains for long, if we did then we would die also.” “Well either way we have to get that crystal back and I think I have a plan.” “Shaboc will not let you get near it.” Rick looked down at Ronnie’s feet.” Ronnie ask him “What are you looking for dad?” “That little lizard thing, here Squeaky. Were are you.” “Squeaky came running out of the fog with a large beetle in it’s mouth. “Squeak, Squeak.” When he spoke the beetle fell out of his mouth and started running off. Squeak started after it.” “No time to eat Squeaky we need your help.” Ronnie told him. “Squeaky took one more look at the beetle as it faded off into the fog and then he turned and walked up to her.” She picked Squeaky up and held him in her hand. “So what’s your plan dad?” “first I want you two to follow me.” Rick made his way back to the rope he had climbed down. “Now I want you two to climb up and wait in the room above, it is safe. There is a force in there called the guardian and he will protect you until Elish or myself gets back, if for some reason we don’t come back in an hour then you can cross the bridge and exit from the top, but make sure you get through the wood before dark, there is some nasty bugs that live in there.” “but dad were grown up now we can help.” “you can help me more by doing as I say now go we have little time left.” The kids climbed the rope and went into the room. Rick and Elish made there way back to the doorway and walked through the fog, once on the other side Elish ask. “So how do you plan on getting the crystal?” “You distract him and leave the rest up to me.” Elish entered the crystal room and Shaboc stood with his back to her. “So are the humans still alive.” He asked in a deep voice “How did you know I went to see them?” “As my powers grow so dose my knowledge.” “Shaboc We don’t need to go to earth, and now that the crystal wall has power we don’t need the Black
Crystal.” The black Crystal began to pulse as Shaboc turned to face Elish, His eyes were glowing a dark red and his voice echoed across the room as he spoke. “What we don’t need is You, Elish.” “We, who is we?” “The Black Crystal and myself of course.” “Shaboc would you listen to what your saying, your being controlled by the Black Crystal.” “Yes I am. Oh I suppose you thought I would fight this. No Elish I welcomed it, in fact I considered it an honor to be the host for the most powerful force in the universe.” “Then use your powers for something useful.” “yes I think I will use it for something useful, like teaching you a lesson!” Shaboc just looked at Elish and she rose into the air and with one movement of his head he flung her into the wall and held her there with out ever touching her.

Elish tried to push herself off the wall but the closer Shaboc came to her the harder the pressure became.” “Don’t do this Shaboc.” “But you’ve been a bad girl and you have to be punished.” Rick put Squeaky on the floor and ran in to ram Shaboc but never made it to him. Shaboc flung him to the ground just by looking at him and held him there, Elish collapsed to the floor gasping for breath. “So Rick Marshall did you think you were just going to walk in here a take the Crystal from me! Did you think that if you ask nicely that I would just give it to you!” Rick’s eye’s rolled back in his head as he began to pass out. “No! Shaboc, don’t kill him!” Elish Screamed out.” “Don’t worry I will make his a slow death.” Shaboc said as his eyes grew brighter. “Please Shaboc spare him.” Why is this human so important to you, there are billons on earth that you can experiment with.” “Because this is, well he is, well I…I Love him!” the second the words love him came out of her mouth all the lights in the room pulsed darker and Shaboc’s eye’ went back to normal. And he lost his hold on Rick, Rick choked and tried to stand but was still to shaken up. Shaboc turned to face Elish and when he did she noticed that his eye’s where slowly turning red again. “Y-O-U L-O-V-E H-I-M!” Elish stepped back as Shaboc slowly approached her. “You can’t love him. Have you forgotten that you’re a sleestak and Sleestak’s can’t feel love!” “Yes I am a sleestak” while Elish was talking to Shaboc Squeaky jumped up onto the pedestal and grabbed the Black Crystal and jumped back to the floor. Shaboc spun around and began shooting bolts of light from his hand at Squeaky but Squeak was too quick for him and dodged every attempt Shaboc made at hitting him. Rick pushed Shaboc down and Squeak ran out the room and back through the transport doorway. With Rick and Elish right behind him.

Shaboc came out after them and went to fire another shoot but it only when a few feet and seemed to hit an invisible wall. “Yes you are trapped now Shaboc, you will not hurt them ” They all heard a voice say. “That’s the guardians voice.” Rick told Elish, Shaboc now trapped in a bubble was enraged as he tried to break from of the force that head him. “The guardian is too weak to do this, I demand that you tell me who you really are!” Shaboc said as he fault to get free. “I was weak but thanks to my new friends I have once again regained some of my powers.” “Ronnie and Bill stepped from the fog as the guardian spoke of them. “Meat my new friends.” “Human how dare you call humans your friends.” “I call them friend because for hundreds of year you have been keeping power from me, but today this human female by the name of Ronnie gave me some power.” “Where would a human find such power.” Ronnie turned to face Elish. And then walked over too Shaboc’s bubble and looked at him. “lets just say that a friend gave me a necklace and I gave it to another friend.” The roof started to crack and chunks of rock began to fall. "you see humans the gaurdian want be able to hold me here for long and keep the land of the lost alive and keep the black Crystal at bay." "This is true Shaboc but it will be able to keep thing like this long enough for the marshall's to ecape." Elish turned to Rick with urgency in her eye’s "You mush hurry Rick Marshall. " Rick picked up Squeaky and took the Crystal from him. “Thank you Squeaky, you’ve been a good friend.” Squeak , Squeak.” Ronnie smiled and said “he said same to you dad.” Squeaky then walked over to Shaboc looked up at him closed his eye’s and stuck his tongue out at him. Then went back to Ronnie. Both Ronnie and Bill hugged Rick and he stepped up to the wall that housed the black Crystal. Elish what about the blue Crystal?” “don’t worry Rick Marshall if there’s a way we will find it.” “Elish I will never forget what you have done for the kid’s and me. “Don’t worry about Bill and Ronnie I will make sure they get out of here safe, you just take care of yourself Rick Marshall.” “Elish, for the first time in her whole life wanted to cry. But she did not let it show.

Rick entered the shield and placed the Crystal back where he had found it, turned and took one more look at his kids then said to the crystal “find my other kids” and the image changed to one of a mountain top where he could see Will and Holly and his brother Jack crunched down behind some rocks. They all looked and could see him as he stepped out into there side again, and they all ran up and hugged him tightly, Jack told him it was good to see him; as he did he noticed that he was fading away. “What’s happening to me. Rick just smiled as he said “well since I am back it looks like you get to go home.” “Even if I don’t want to leave?” “yes, but I thank you for taking care of my kids.” Jack told him “anytime” as he completely faded away. Well kids did you miss me?” Will was on one side and Holly was on the other as the three walked down the mountain. “We sure did dad, we sure did.” “That’s good, well I think it’s time we made our way back to the cave, before it gets to dark.” “Ahh dad, about the cave” “don’t tell me you wreaked the cave while I was gone. They all busted out laughing as they walked off into the distance.


The gaurdian Spoke once more. "I will open the hall's of Time if you wish to Find your father my human friend." Bill turned to Ronnie and said, “Well Ronnie are you ready to go find our dad,? Yes I think after our little visit from our other dad it is time to find ours, you want to come with us Elish .” Elish looked at them “Your dad? I though he was lost somewhere in the hall of time.” “he is and were going to find him.” “but that could talk forever.” Well think of it this way Elish, do you have anything better to do?” Elish though about it for a moment. “well no I don’t have anything better to do, I would be glad to help you find your dad.” Bill put his arm around both of them and said. “well then hold on ladies because this is where the real adventure begins.

THE WHITE CRYSTAL

Part Two of the Black Crystal

Ronnie gently opened the box that housed the Blue crystal and looked inside.
“Don’t touch it!” Elish told her is a stern voice. “If you touch it you could upset the force it holds even further. Best to leave it. Elish Hung her head for a moment and looked back at Ronnie. “I understand,” she said in a soft voice.
Ronnie continued to look at the crystal as she slowly closed the box that it rested in, then she placed it in a pouch on her garment.
“Why did dad seem so concerned about the Blue Crystal?” Elish stood in silence for a moment.

The guardian spoke: Elish tell them of the Crystal!
Elish looked at Bill and Ronnie and then back to Bill again. “The force that the blue Crystal contains… Is your mother.” “Our mother!” both Bill and Ronnie sounded out in unison. “What do you mean, our mother?”
Elish did not want to answer the question. She felt another feeling she had never felt before. She felt ashamed, ashamed at what she was going to help Shaboc do.
The Guardian spoke up again. Your father came to me earlier to retrieve the black crystal. Before I could let him do that I had to run a test on him to see if he could handle being around the Crystal.”

"What kind of test?" Asked Bill.
“I had to see if his heart held good intentions. You see, Bill, everyone’s heart holds good and bad in it but it’s the one that controls the heart that matters, and this is what I had to know, because if the bad was stronger than the good then the Black crystal could take control of it and that would be very bad for everyone.”
“ I see, so how do you test one’s heart?”

“In this room I can read your mind and bring up any part of your life that you think about, but I let your own mind find the things that are the strongest to it, the things that matter the most. This shows what guides you but more important the feeling you have at the time will show what’s in your heart.”
Ronnie took a step forward, “So what does this have to do with Elish?”
“Well Ronnie, your father's strongest memories are of his wedding day to your mother and when the two of you were born, and the day your mother died, and lastly how he had to keep going to raise you kid’s. Elish had been monitoring the whole thing and she stored the parts of your mother in the Blue crystal. That is why she said it contains your mother. She was going to give it to Shaboc and he planned to use it to get your father to give him the Black Crystal.”

Bill spoke up: “I get it, Shaboc was going to offer to return Mother to him in exchange for the Black Crystal.” “Yes that is correct.” Bill stepped up in front of Elish. “So why didn’t you follow through with the plan?”
At this point Ronnie broke in. “Because she touched the Crystal, isn’t that right Elish?”
“Yes, I touched it, I thought it was broke and I did not have time to remake another one so I touched it, but only for a second and only to test it, but something happened, something I did not expect.”
“Bill franticly asks. So what does that have to do with anything?”
“Don’t you get it Bill” Ronnie replied, “She touched the Crystal, The Crystal that holds the very Essence of our mother, and when she did some of our mother went into her, that’s why she was not able to follow Shaboc’s plan.”
Bill turned again to face Elish. “Is that true, you have our mother’s Essence in you?”
“It is true, I have a part of your mother trapped inside me now, it is only a very small part, but it was enough that I can now… Feel.”
“Feel, you can’t feel…” “I am sorry if this is hard for you to understand Bill, but I can feel.” “Ok tell me then, what is it you feel? What do you feel at this very moment?”
Elish looked down at the floor and then back to both of them.
“I feel many things at this moment. I feel ashamed that I was part of Shabocs plan. I feel lost as well, but the strangest feeling of all is the feeling I have every time I look at either one of you.”
“When you look at us, what do you feel when you look at us?”
“Love. I feel love. I don’t know why but I feel like you are very important to me.”
“Important, explain what you mean by that” Bill asked.
“I can’t explain it Bill, but I can tell you this: The feeling was strong enough that I just gave up everything I have ever known. I betrayed everything I have ever known to make sure nothing happened to either one of you.”
Ronnie walked over to Bill and placed her hand on his arm.
“I think she just explained the very meaning of love, most people can’t even do that.”
Elish spoke up again. “I did?”
“Yes you did, and if you can feel that, then you are alright with me.”
The Guardian once again began to speak: What Elish tells you is the truth, she does have these feeling in her heart as I to can see into her heart, they are giving her much trouble because she does not understand them, but without these feelings she would not be able to pass through the time doorway that I have now opened for the three of you.”
Squeaky popped his head out of the little bag that hung from Ronnie’ side.
“Squeak, squeak” he said as he looked around at all of them.
“I think that Squeaky doesn’t like being left out”, Ronnie said with a smile.
Once again the Guardian spoke: “Your friend Squeaky has also proven himself so he may go with you also if this is your wish.”
“It is our wish” Ronnie told the Guardian as she placed the cover over the little bag that Squeaky was in.
Bill turned to Elish and said in a kind voice, “I am sorry about the way I just treated you, and I would welcome you as a friend.

The roof of the cave began to crack again and they could hear the screams of Shaboc as he seemed to be getting closer.
Ronnie shouted out. “What just happened?
The Guardian Replied:
I had to release Shaboc. I could not keep the roof stable and hold Shaboc at the same time. Now time grows short, for it will not be long before he arrives here so you must go through the time doorway now.”
“But what about everything that is still here, what about…"
“I can keep this land safe for at least a few more weeks but after that I just can’t say what will happen. But if you do not go through and find the White Crystal, all will be lost. Now go find your dad and find the white Crystal.
They could hear Shaboc as he climbed up the rope that hung down from where they were and into the pit below. As they stepped through the time doorway they looked back just in time to see Shaboc pulling himself up over the edge. He was furiously angered and it showed as he was opening his mouth to show all his teeth and his eyes were fixed on them. They stepped on through and the time doorway closed behind them.

Shaboc plunged his arms forcefully into the air and sparks flew from his fingertips.
“You will pay for this Guardian, do you hear me? You will pay dearly!

CHAPTER TWO

FREEDOM


Shaboc reached into his garment and pulled out The Black Crystal, and then he held it up.
“Your powers are too weak to stop me Guardian, while you were using your power to help the trader I was retrieving the black crystal, and soon I will be the most powerful thing in the land, soon I will be even more powerful than the black crystal.”
“You will still have to get back to your cave with that, You will find that you cannot exit the way you entered Shaboc, for I have closed the doorway from which you entered.”
Shaboc ran up the path and out into the courtyard, there was very little fog and it made his skin start tingling to be out in such dry air.
He started to turn around and go back into the cavern but the stone door slid shut before he had a chance.
“Let me in!” Shaboc yelled.
“Your heart is evil, you may not enter”
“I am Shaboc, ruler of all the lands, and I say open and let me in!”
“The Guardian does not wish it, now be on your way.”
“The sun, the air, it hurts me to be out in it.”
“Then make hast, for there is water near by.
Shaboc grabbed the necklace around his neck and squeezed it, but nothing happened.
The heat was all around Shaboc, he could see the rays of light hitting the marble floor in the courtyard and he knew he would not last long out in the open like this.
Shaboc pulled the black crystal out and looked at it intently.
“Protect me from the sun for it hurts me, make in dark.”
Nothing happened.
Shaboc grew even more angered; he squeezed the black crystal and shouted at it.
“I command you to make it dark and bring in the misty air so that my pain will end.”
For a moment nothing happened but then the sky grew darker as clouds moved overhead and a mist blew in from the river and across Shabocs skin.”
The air was a great relief for Shaboc, whose skin was already starting to blister from the short time he had been exposed to the sunlight.

Shaboc could see the exit path at the other end of the courtyard and began to make his way towards it, it had already turned to night in the short time it took Shaboc to cross the courtyard, he reach the pathway only to find that the whole entrance was covered with a very thick spider web.

He reached out to rip the spiders web away but as soon as he grabbed it a spider bit his hand, Shaboc pulled his hand back quickly and looked at the small bite then in anger he picked up a stick and stuck it in the web and began to rip the web apart but then another spider ran down the stick and bit him again.

Shaboc already feeling the poison from the spiders bite stepped back and pulled the black crystal out.
“I command you to open this pathway so that I may pass.”
As soon as Shaboc had said the words the spiders began to remove the web from the path, and a feeling of power rushed through his veins.

“Now all you creatures of the dark, move aside so that I may pass.”
The spiders retreated back into the woods and let Shaboc enter, but he had taken no more than two steps before three of then dropped onto his hand and began to bite him repeatedly, making him drop the black crystal.

The path soon filled up with all kinds of night Creatures and Shaboc stepped back into the courtyard to stay clear of them, the spiders and other creatures came to the edge of the clearing and stopped. Shaboc looked at his hand that was beginning to swell.

“You have the black crystal but you don’t have me.” Shaboc screamed in protest.
The spiders, scorpions and many other crawling things began to come out of the woods after him.
Shaboc kept moving backward until he found that he had backed into something, a chill ran down his spine because he knew what it was without looking, it was the sacrifice table.
The spiders became frantic as they lounged towards Shaboc, and he jumped up onto the table.
“What is it you want from me, am I to be a sacrifice?”
Shabocs eyes grew heavy as the spider’s poison made its way to his brain, and moment by moment he could fell himself slipping away, things always getting darker, spiders always getting closer.
“I am Shaboc and I…”
Shaboc went to sleep and the spiders went to work.
Shaboc opened his eye’s and found that the spiders had built a thick web over him but were nowhere to be seen although he could feel them eating at the flesh on his leg, he tried to move but could not, he realized that he was paralyzed.
“But if I am paralyzed then why can I feel them eating my legs?” Shaboc thought to himself.

The sun started to come out again, and Shaboc welcomed it, although he knew it would kill him to be out in the sun for any longer than just a few minutes it was a welcomed death compared to being eaten alive by the spiders, for he knew that these spiders could not stay in the sunlight and would have to retreat.
The sun kept getting brighter and began to burn Shabocs skin, but the spider kept on eating at him, and eating more and more rapidly.
The pain was almost unbearable he screamed for help, then Shaboc awoke to find that it was still dark, and although a spider web held him down there were no spiders on him. But then he realized it was a dream, the spiders had not been eating him.

Shaboc began to try and free himself but found he could not even free one arm.
A moment later he felt a thud and looking down at his chest he could see a very large scorpion had landed on his chest and it was holding the black crystal, the scorpion was no normal scorpion, this one was over a foot long and was gazing right at him.
The scorpion held the black crystal between it’s two claws and then raised it up into the night air, a force flowed from the Crystal and as it passed over the scorpion, the scorpion changed from a light tan to a dark black and it’s eye’s started to glow a dark blue color with red pupils.
The Crystal itself turned gray and the scorpion tossed it to the ground.
Shaboc knew that somehow the Black crystals force had just went into the scorpion and he shouted at it.
Free me, free me now, I command you.
The scorpion took another step forward and was now only inches from Shaboc face, its mouth began to move and Shaboc froze when he heard the scorpion speak.
“Who are you to think you could command me, I am not your servant, you are mine.”
“I am, your servant, I will serve you, just set me free.”
“Freedom, is something you shall never know again Shaboc, that was something you lost the minute you tried to command me, it was I who place those thoughts of the spiders eating you, and it was I who made you feel the pain of the burning sun for it was I who stopped your force field from working and it was I who also place the sun in your mind, for the purposes of your pain, and I wish you much more pain.

And with that the scorpion plunged its stinger into Shabocs neck and the poison slowly seeped into his veins, his eyes turned dark blue as the black crystal had now found it’s way into Shaboc and was taking control.

The scorpion fell to the ground dead as Shaboc ripped his way free with the amazing new strength he had. And began to run, he ran down the courtyard and into the path that led out, he ran across the grasses and found himself standing on the rivers bank.

Why do you run Shaboc, you can not run from me for I am now inside you and I will slowly take you over, your heart is evil and I feast upon evil, so I will slowly consume your heart and then your mind and then your body, I could do this fast but I prefer that you should suffer for being so arrogant as to think you could control me. Now you shall know the real dark force that lies within you.”
Shaboc tore at his skin, screamed and ran into the river.

CHAPTER THREE

HOLLY DON'T

Once Ronnie, Bill and Elish had stepped out of the time doorway they just froze in owe at what they were seeing. The place they had entered was like a water city, all around them all they could see was tiers of waterfalls, not made my nature but by something else, the water seemed to flow from large rivers coming right out of the top of each mountain and would flow over tier after tier each one about ten feet high with the one below stepping out about another five feet, you could walk behind the water falls on each one of the tiers.

From her vantage point of about two miles up, Ronnie looked out across the rivers of water and her eye grew wide as she took in the sight of what was now before her.
“Look Bill, have you ever seen anything so beautiful in all your life?”
Bill was also taken aback by the beautiful rainbows that were lined up all through the valley, one about every hundred feet and spanning the valley in all there splendor.

“This can not be” Elish said as she turned to face them.
“What is it Elish, what’s the matter?” Bill said softly.

Elish stepped out to the edge of the ledge she was standing on and looked down to see that where all the waterfalls ran together it formed one massive waterfall.
“This is a city of a forgotten time, an city of myth, as hatchlings we were told about such a city but that was only a fairytale, this is real, and how can it be real.”

“You do not understand Bill, It is said that behind the great water fall is the master doorway.”
Both Ronnie and Bill looked at each other and back to Elish.
“Are you talking about some giant door, or are you talking about a time doorway.”
“Yes Bill, It is said in legend that the original time doorway can be found behind the giant waterfall, I believe that’s the waterfall.”
“But there are lots of water falls Elish, what makes you think that’s the one your are thinking of?”
“Simple, it’s the only waterfall I have ever seen with tiers of waterfalls leading to it.”
“Ok then Elish, since you seem to know this place so well would you like to show use where we should go from here?”
I only know of this place from stories, but it the stories are true, then what we seek should be located just under the main waterfall.”
Elish started to make her way down the path behind the tiers, she liked the moister that filled the air because of all the waterfalls, Bill and Ronnie didn’t like it because they were getting wet from the mist spraying off the waterfalls.

“Come along kids we must hurry if we are to get to the crystal in time.” Elish said with urgency as she led the kids down the path.

“Crystal: I though we were looking for Dad, Ronnie said to Bill “And why did Elish just call us, Kids”

Elish hearing them stopped and turned to face them.

“I am sorry for calling you Kids, I do not know why I did that, but as for finding your dad, it is my belief that where we find the crystal we will also find your dad since he would almost had to of been looking for it himself.”

“But what if he has already found it and went back with it?”
“If he had returned with it then the guardian would have known this and he wouldn’t have sent us in to retrieve it.”
Ronnie spoke up.
“What she says makes since Bill, let’s just go, we will find out nothing standing here.”

The further they traveled down the louder the waterfall became and the quieter they were.
Ronnie noticed that the mist coming from the waterfall was looking strange, as if some of the mist was able to move on it’s own, this mist seemed to be surrounding them more and more the further they traveled.
“Bill, have you noticed?”
“Yes I have, but we have to keep moving if we are to find dad”
“But what do you think is going on, why is the mist moving around us like this?”
“I don’t know Ronnie, but how many things in the past have we seen that we can’t explain, I mean look in your pouch, you carry some sort of tiny dinosaur around as a pet!”
“Don’t you pick on Squeaky, he’s a good dinosaur.”
“Yes Ronnie he’s a good dinosaur, but my point is he is a dinosaur. One that went extinct millions of years ago, yet you have one as a pet, now how strange is that?”
“Oh, yes I see.”
“So stop worrying about some stupid mist floating around us, we have much bigger things to worry about, like how we are going to save dad once we find him.”
“Save dad, why do you think we would have to save him?”
“Because if he was alright then he would have returned already.”
“Oh Bill you worry to much, Dad can take care of himself, he’s been through a lot worse than this place.”

Elish came out on a landing that was right behind the main waterfall there was a large open space about 100 yards across and in the center of this space a very large shinny ball that seemed to just float in the air, it had thousands of small hole in it each one only inches in size and each hole had a ray of light coming out of it and leading into a hole of matching size in the surrounding walls
There were no holes on the top or bottom of the large ball other than one tiny on that had a strong beam of energy flowing strait up about ten feet and into the waterfall over head that seemed to just stop at the point of contact with the beam.

“Elish, what is all of this?” Bill asked as they all looked piercingly at what was in front of them.”

“I am not sure, I have never seen anything like this and I was never told of this in the fairytale.”
Ronnie’s heart felt weak as she asked. “Where is daddy then?”

A very large voice came from the shining ball that was in front of then, it glowed brighter as the words sounded.

“The human you speak of is now trapped in time and is to forever remain there.”
Bill stepped up in front of the others and began to speak to the voice in the fog.
“Why is our father trapped in time?”
“We are the keepers of the time path, we hold the keys to the past and the future, we only wish for peace, your father came to us and ask that we help him to free his family from the place his family had entered after falling through time.”

“And what’s wrong with that?”
“It is not our wish to hold your father here for he only wanted to help another but in doing so he broke our oldest law and so we had to entrap him in time forever so that he would never be able to do this again.”
“What is your oldest law”?
“Young human, this place you see is what keeps time, it is what holds the universe together, you see many many years ago a great comet came through the universe passing by many planets, but this comet was no ordinary comet, this comet was able to interfere with the timeline of whatever it passed and in the process it would destroy any life it came in contact with, we were a intelligent race and we stopped the comet by blowing it up but dust from this comet settled on many planets and we discovered that any two large peaces of the dust that come into contact with each other either by touching or having an energy charge sent between them, then at this moment a time doorway can be opened and whatever is around at the time could be pulled into another time.”
“And that’s what happened to us?”

“No young human, There was no order in the timeline no way of knowing where one would end up, one could end up on any one of the places that the comet had passed in space, or more than one at the same time, many of these places can not support life and so anything that was pulled through the timeline would die once it reached the other side.
We built this place to make order in the timeline of all these places, the sphere you see before you is the largest part of the comet.”

“Wait a minute are you telling us that we are standing right in front of something that could stop our very existents?”

“Yes it could do that if we were not controlling it with the white crystal, you see….
Ronnie breaks in. “Wait I want to know something, you said you built this place to keep the timelines in order.”

“That is correct.”
“Then why are we not back home in the good ole U, S of A, why were we pulled into a land full of dinosaurs?”

As I have pointed out, we tried to fix the time pathways, but we only have so much power, so we only concentrated on the planets that had water on them, since there has to be water for there to be life and in this we were able fix most of the timelines but sometimes an energy source gets to close to a few fragment of the comet and it opens up a time doorway, we built the place you went to as a holding place, for those things that were pulled in when this happened, not all go to the land of time but we guild as many as we can.”

Bill raised an eyebrow. And said. “Land of time, you mean where we were sent, but what happens to people that don’t go there, and why would you guild them to the land of time?”

“Because any that slip by might be so different from the life forms that already live there that they upset the balance of that planet or worse the one going through time could end up on a dead planet and die.”

Ronnie was getting tired of all the water running down her back and ask the voice about it.

“Well I thank you for saving us though I do not see how we could have made an energy field open to get here since we were in a raft at the time and in a river no less, but I wish to know why is there so much water here?”

“To answer your first question The place you entered the land of time from has a very strong doorway, on each side of the river you were in there are two very large peaces of the comet and the energy that is inside a few humans can set it off, and open a doorway.”

“If this doorway is so strong them why didn’t you fix it years ago, before people came along?”

“A few years ago on earth some humans built a steel bridge across the river, what they didn’t know was that each end of the bridge was resting on a peace of the comet, this was not a problem until one day they stopped a train on the bridge, the power from that trains gave the comets enough power to send the train with all the people in and around it into another time and it also let enough power in it that allowed it to be so sensitive that it would only take the energy that your human bodies gave off to open it again, we were not able to bring the other people To the land of time but we did manage to bring you all there.”

“What happened to the other people?”
“We do not know, now as for the mist that you ask about, We do not have physical form as you have noticed and we needed to have things set up here that would require a physical form so we brought in a race of beings that we ourselves had place on earth you would know them as alligators, we transformed them into what we call Gruels and they did the work for us, but they also were a water race and needed to be kept moist all the time so we helped them to build this place with all the waterfalls
And that is why it is so wet everywhere.”

“So where are these Gruels now?”
“We could not have them around once they have helped us build this place, for they might disturb a time pathway and our biggest concern was keeping time in order as much as possible, so once they were finished with their work we sent them back to earth, but instead of remaining in the water they started to come onto land, we figured that some of their time here working out of the water remained in their minds, once on land they began to fight with the ones that remained in the water so we sent a crystal to absorb the anger that they had in them.
But they continued to fight until we knew they would not be left on earth to destroy the whole planet so we shielded the part they lived on and broke it off the planet bringing it to rest just above your planet.”

“What! There’s nothing just above earth planet large enough to house a whole race of anything.”
“Yes, it is what you would call the Moon.”
Ronnie broke in: “that’s the craziest thing I have ever heard, there nothing living on the moon, we have had people land on the moon and its just a big ball of bust!”

“You are right young human female, there is noting living on the moon, but there is many things living in the moon.”

“Ok I was wrong before because this is now the craziest thing I have ever heard, if well were pulled into the land of time as you say and the land of time is inside the moon, then why does it have a sky and why can’t we see the earth from the moon cause the earth is bigger than the moon and when we were on earth we could sure see the moon, well at night at least.”

“The sky you are talking about is just a simple matter of us placing an image around the interior of the land, it is all just to make the animals and in your case the people feel a little more at ease with their new surroundings.”

“At ease with our surrounding, we’ve never been at ease with them, we have always wanted to get back home.”

“Your dad said the same thing, but I will ask you the same thing I asked him, would you of felt more at ease looking up at seeing nothing but stone above your heads?”

“Speaking of our dad, when are you going to tell use what he did to be kept a prisoner in time?”

“He told us of Shaboc and the evil that is now in the lands of time, and that he was seeking the White Crystal in order to give the guardian more power so that he could set thing right again…

“Wait, first off why would you create a place like the land of time and not make sure it had enough power to work?”

“We were giving it all the power it needed but Shaboc stopped this so that the Guardian would grow weak, he only wants power and will stop at nothing to get it, Your father on the other hand just wanted to help so we were willing to help him.”

“Then why did you trap him?”
“When your father came to use to use the crystal we told him he could not take it for if he did all life everywhere would die since it is the crystal that keeps the time line in tact, he was most upset with this knowledge and agreed that this was not the way and started to leave, we told him that there was a way but he would need to go back and find a blue Crystal and he could use it to pull some of the energy into it and then he could bring that to the Guardian and it would give him enough power to last for thousands of years and in that time we could fix the errors of Shaboc hand.”

“It all sound good so far, goes on.”

“Your father did not know where a blue crystal was so we told him he could ask the mist, and it would show him where it was, would you like to see these events for yourself?”

“Yes we would?”
“The mist can show you anything you wish just ask it and it will do as you wish.”

Bill looked at both Ronnie and Elish and swallowed the lump in his throat.

“Mist show use what happen to our dad to make him a prisoner.”

All the little flickers of light from within the mish came together to form a wall of mist in front of them and an image formed on it showing the events they had ask for.

“The Human Rick, what is it you wish to see?” I would like to know where a blue crystal large enough to house the power needed to replenish the Guardian so that it may fix the land of time.”
The mist showed a very tall tree that went up into the mist.”
“Do you know of this tree”?
“Yes” Rick said in reply “it is the one at the end of the swap.”
“Then you must go there and find the crystal you seek.”
“But wait where is the crystal in this tree?”
“Once again a picture formed in the mist showing Shaboc standing by a time doorway with a blue crystal on a little stand between him and the doorway, in the time doorway he could see holly in a pylon about to step out.”
Shaboc said in a hissing voice, just one step human and I will have your essence for the moment you step onto this side you will explode as you have not been conditioned to live here, but in that short time I will capture you in the crystal and use that to force your father here to bring me the black crystal.”

Rick fall to the ground not believing what he had just seen.

“Shaboc wants to kill my child.”
Rick got back on his feet and what he could do to stop this from happening.

“Nothing” said the voice.

Rick could not accept that and figured that this was not just a video but also a time doorway; he stepped through and tried shake Holly.
“She can not see or here you human Rick, for you are not allowed to interfere with any living things while using these time doorway, you know of this from the Guardian.”

Rick felt helpless and Thought franticly about a way he could help Holly, he couldn’t just let her die, then the idea hit him.
“I may not be able to interfere with her but I can interfere with the sand on the ground.”
Rick walked right through Holly and leaned over and wrote in the sand right in front of the pylon the words ‘HOLLY DON’T’ the moment he did he was pulled into an empty room and the bright mist formed around him.
“You have broken the laws and for that you will remain here forever.”

“The mist went blank and Ronnie turned to face Bill.”

“That was me, but it wasn’t me, I never did any of that!”
Bill thought for a moment.
“I know, it must have been the other you, you know our other selves living on the other side of the land of time.”

“I, I mean she was going to die and daddy saved her.”
“Well he wouldn’t be our dad if he didn’t at least try.”

Elish walked over and began to speak to the Voice.

Why do you hold these humans father prisoner for trying to save his own children.
“It was not his children, his children are standing right in front of you.”

“This is true his kids are standing here but as you know there are two set of then living here in the lost land one is one the water side and one is on the land side.”

“And each side has a father.”
“But to Rick it would not matter what side they were on, to him they were all his kids it is just the way humans feel.”

“What do you know of human feelings Elish?”

“I have stored these humans mother in a blue crystal, it is the same crystal we seen in the mist just now, I then touched this crystal and now have a small part of their mothers essence in me so I know of human feelings from this, and I can tell you that humans care greatly for their own.”

“Show me this crystal that you speak of”

Ronnie removed the box from here garment and opened the box sitting it at the edge of the cavern opening.

“With this crystal you could store the power you need to save the lands of time, but not while it hold the essence of Ann in it.”
In a shallow voice Ronnie asked. “Then what can we do, get another crystal?”
“No this is the only blue crystal large enough to house the power that is needed, beside you would not have time to go back and get another crystal, I will have to remove your mother essence.”
“But what of our mother?”
“Normally her essence would return into the mist and go back to here time, but Elish has part of your mother in her and that part can not be put back with the other part that the crystal harnesses for if she touched the crystal all that would happen is more of your mother would go into her.”
Tears began to flow from Ronnie’s eyes, but I wanted to see her so much.”
Elish could feel Ronnie’s pain; she walked over a placed her hand on her shoulder, Elish spoke to the Voice.

“You said that my race was once a alligator race until you changed us into what we are not is that right?”

Ronnie and Bills face Elish. “You’re a Gruel?” they both said in unison.

The voice spoke to Elish.

“Yes this is true.”
“Then could you change me into human form?”
“Yes it is possible.”
Elish then grabbed up the blue crystal and said “Then change me into their mother!”
The voice spoke sternly to Elish “Your body can not house both you and Ann’s essence, I can not do what you ask.”
“Then let my life leave for I wish to keep these feeling, I wish to be human.”
“So be it, Elish you shall have your wish.”
The sparkling mist surrounded Elish and blocked out all view of her, she pulled the crystal close to her chest and let her life force flow from her body allowing the essence of Ann to fill her body in it’s place.
Ronnie and Bill looked on with wide eyes as the mist began to disperse from around the form that now lay on the floor beside them, a blonde haired women lay on the grown with a robe on. Ronnie kneeled down beside the woman and noticed her eyes were closed, she gently touched her face, and it was warm.
“She’s warm” Bill’s Ronnie said with excitement in her voice. “ Her skin is warm.”
Ronnie’s reached down and held one of Ann’s hands an said in a soft voice, ‘Mommy.”
“Yes sweetie” was the reply.”

CHAPTER FOUR.



Shaboc could feel the power of the crystal as it slowly took control of him and he was powerless to do anything about it, under the murky water he found himself unable to move, and he could see something swimming towards him, he was not sure what it was but he was sure that it had a very large set of teeth, a mouth just large enough that it could swallow him whole.
He tried to move again but still nothing would happen, his arms were just hanging by his sides. The black crystal began to speak to him again, it was like a ringing in his head that he could not get away from, and it was painful just to hear it.

“Are you finding it a little hard to swim, Shaboc?”
“Yes, please release me so I may swim to the surface and get some air.”
“But you are of the water race, are you not?”
“Yes but I still must have air.”
“You forget Shaboc I know your every weakness for I am inside you now and I will make sure you do not die as I plan to have much fun in torturing you.”
“Well if you don’t get me to the surface soon you want have anything to punish.”
“And why is that Shaboc.”
“Don’t you see that thing heading towards us”?
“Yes, he is rather large isn’t he, maybe you should try to swim once again.”
Shaboc tried again to make his arms move and in time was able to force them to move slowly then faster and faster and before long he was swimming faster than he had ever swam in his whole like, twice as fast even.”

Shaboc found that he could easily out swim the beast that now pursued him, he made for the surface gulped in large amounts of air and began to make for the edge.

In just a matter of minutes Shaboc found himself standing in front of the wall of crystals that he had tried to charge the day before using the black crystal, he raised his arms and could feel the force of power as it traveled through his veins the wall of crystals at once became so bright that Shaboc had to use one arm to shield his eyes.

“Now Shaboc I will show you what real power is.”
“What do you plan to do?”
“What you were unable to do in all your years of trying, I plan to first take both sides of the lands of time and them, I will take earth for my own.”
“But you want be able to get to earth the time doorways want let and evil force such you or I through it.”

“Shaboc, your mind is so large yet it hold so little, it knows so little, yes I will get to earth for I have found a way.”

Shaboc slowly pulled his arm away from his face and held both of them out towards the crystal wall and once again he could fell the power flowing through his arm but much more of it, Shaboc was now under full control of the black crystal and could only sit a watch as the things happened right in front of him, he made his way back outside and stood looking down at the river, a wave of energy crossed the wetland and the river below began to drain as the river floor opened up and swallowed all the water, many turning funnels of water came up out of the great crack that was once the bottom of the great river below.
The funnels began to suck in all of the Gruels that were running up the river banks, it snatched up many other creatures as well, Shaboc could hear them screaming as they disappeared into the funnels.

“What’s happening, why are you killing all of them, they could help us!”
“No Shaboc they will help me for I am not killing them I am just sending them to the other side of the land of time where the land Gruels live, I wish to rid myself of them before I do anything for they have been like acid to me since long before you were born Now it is my turn to cross over and take my revenge.”

Shaboc walked out onto the swinging bridge that hung over the once mighty river and could only watch as the power of the crystal forced him to jump, he noticed he was falling strait towards the largest water funnel, but out of no where he heard a squall and before he could turn and look he felt the jaws of Tekesh lock around his waist, his front half hanging out one side of the beasts long pointy mouth and his legs hanging out the other, with unheard of power the black crystal took over and reached around and jammed one arm around one of the teeth in the beast upper jaw and ripped it lose blood spattered on him as he forced the tooth into the side of the beast otter upper jaw, the beast let out a squall and when it did it opened it mouth for just a moment and Shaboc pulled himself out real fast using the same tooth that he had jabbed into the beast head blood dripping from his ripped up side as he quickly made his way around and onto the neck of the beast, Shaboc then pulled the tooth lose and again use it to jab into the neck of the beast where he would then use it as a handle to control the beast in flight.

He wrenched the tooth forwards causing the beast to fly strait down and into the water funnel.

Pain was shooting through Shaboc as he could feel himself passing from one side of time to the other. At that moment Shaboc no longer minded the fact that the black crystal had full control over him for in his sights he now could see what he always wanted to see, His black gruel were in a great battle with the green gruels, row after row of then were fighting it out on the river bank. Many black gruels were lying dead already but many more green gruels were dead and this made Shaboc feel the sweet taste of revenge, and victory

Arrow were flying and bodies were falling but Shaboc could see it all from the safety of the sky.

The sky was cracking and rolling as the two time pathways ran into each other causing rips in time, water funnels were so wild that they would even pull one another in, one could pull a gruel in and then spit him right back out another funnel, he might be alright or he might be in peaces, half his body could be a hundred year older that the other half depending on what time path it had went down.
Holly had been hit by falling rocks and was lying on the ground a small stream of blood make its way down the side of her face.
Rick and Will knelt beside her trying to wake her and the storm wind was whipping around then at a frantic rate. The two men had to scream just to hear each other even though they were right next to each other. Dinosaurs ran wildly through the jungle trying to get away from the storm.

“What do you think it is dad?”
“I don’t know son but if we don’t find shelter soon we may find ourselves squashed by some dinosaur!”
“What about Holly!”
“We’ll just have to carry her, I think that the cave that S'latch lives in is just ahead!”
“But that’s right in the path of the dinosaurs and this wind is so hard I can’t even stand much less carry Holly!”

“But I can!”
Rick bent over and pick Holly up and while staying hunched over he slowly made his way to the small cave ahead he made it in with Holly just as a Brontosaurus ran by, its tail raked the front of the cave.
Will quickly tended to Holly, whipping her wound with a peace he had ripped from his shirt then it looked out at the storm.
“What are we going to do dad?”
“We will just have to fix it Will?”
“But how day, me and Holly haven’t been messing with the pylons and even if we had I don’t think we would be able to get to them to fix them.”
“Well we are going to have to do something, if this keeps up everything will be destroyed, nothing can stand a storm of this magnitude for very long.
S'latch stepped out from the back of the cave and ran a crystal over Holly a moment later she opened her eyes and seen S’latch standing over her she screamed in shock.
Rick and Will spun around to see S’latch kneeling over Holly.
“S’latch, is good to see you” Rick said as he checked on Holly.
“It is good to see you as well Rick Marshall.”
“It’s alright Holly this is S’latch, remember he saved us that time when we were in the sleestack pit.”
Holly sat up and looked at S’latch.
“Yea I remember him now daddy, sorry about that S’latch, yea know you kind of scared me.”
“It is quit alright young Marshall, I realize that my people are a freighting race for your kind to look upon.”

S’latch again looked at Rick.
“The storms Rick Marshall, they are a sign that the great battle is at hand.”
“What are you talking about?”
“The signs Rick Marshall, I know them for now I have the knowledge of the elders, I now know my purpose.”
“And what is your purpose S’latch.”
“To end a war that started long before I was a hatchling.”






John taps the gauge on his instrument panel and the tingeing sound rings out through the crowded capsule that him and the other three astronauts had been jammed into for the last two-weeks.

“Why must you do that?” Ann says as she tries to find a more comfortable position in her cramped corner of the fuselage.
“To make sure it’s right before I do my report.”
“Your report! Why don’t you just copy what you wrote yesterday?”
Dave broke in. “Come on Ann let the man do his work.”
“Well he can do his work without tapping on those darn gauges every time he wants a reading.”
“He just wants to make sure there right in case something changes.”
“In case something changes! Look out the window Dave, what could possibly change out there, I mean were on the stinking moon, it’s just a big ball of dust, nothings changed up here for a thousand years.”
CHAPTER FIVE

MISSING

I apologize: I really could have written this better, but I just did not have time so I just write it like this.




Ronnie jumped back as mist sprayed out from the orb
“What going on!”
“I don’t know, everything seems to have went haywire”
Ronnie’s looked around as water sprayed across the room, then she looked back at her mother just in time to see the mist sparkle surround her body and a moment later she was gone.
“Mother!” she cried out but it was to no avail she was gone.
“What happen to Mom?”
The voice came back a moment later and said.
“The time pathways have been jeopardized, you mother had not yet formed and is now lost in time, same as your father now is.”
“What do you mean our fathers lost in time, you said a while ago you had him trapped?”
“Yes we did, we had him trapped in time, no time moving in either direction, it’s the perfect prison for if time does not move then nothing happens, but like I said the time paths have been jeopardized and now many time paths are broken or lead to the wrong places and your father was released when this happened.”
“Will you be able to find him again?”
“I can not say at this point but the time paths must be repaired or all will be lost.”
You must get back to the land of time, and fix the rip in time for the longer time is left to go out of control the less chance of ever fixing it again.”
“Well how long do we have?”
“Look to the sky, you will see streak of light going across the sky the closer it get to time running out, first you will see green then blue and finally red, if it turns red then all will be lost.”
“So what do we do to fix time?”
“You will have to charge the blue crystal with the power of the white crystal and then place the crystal at the heart of the lands of time.”
I will send you to the lands of time from witch the other Marshall are now living once their you must place the crystal at the spot where the pylons once was but is no more.”
“But I though we would die if we ever crossed over to the other side.”
“You would have in the past but right now both time are colliding so you are safe to pass but this is also why we must fix it, because these to time path can not remain touching for very long.”
“You must hurry time runs short.”
“What do we do?”

”I will open the orb and you must charge the crystal, Wait it is too late I can no longer control the orb.”
“Is there another way?”
“No the blue crystal has to get close to the white crystal in order to charge and I can not open the orb.”
Squeaky jumped up onto Ronnie’s foot. “Squeak, Squeak!”
“What is it Squeaky, I don’t understand you.”
Squeaky ran up Ronnie’s leg and was biting at her bag that held the blue crystal.
“I don’t understand.”
The voice spoke again.
“Do you wish to be able to understand the little creature Ronnie Marshall?”
“Well it sure would make things easier.”
A light flashed in the room and at once Squeaky had a voice.
“Rock, me want it.”
Bills eyes about popped out of his head when he heard Squeaky speak.
“You want the crystal?”
“Yes Rock me give.”
“What are you going to do with it?”
“Help it”
Ronnie opened the bag and pulled out the blue crystal, it was still covered with a small cloth.
“Can he touch the crystal with out it hurting him?” Ronnie ask the voice.
“Yes it can not hurt him.”
Ronnie handed it to Squeaky who was now standing on the floor, Squeaky ran over to the edge and got a running start and started speeding towards the edge of the orbs cavern, he ran off and onto the stream of water that flowed out of it but instead of falling through it he was running so fast that his little web feet were able to hold him up on top of the water, he went through the small hole in the side of the orb and then made his way to the white crystal and stop on top of it, he held the blue crystal onto the White one and they both began to glow. Then he ran back out of the orb towards the edge again but he was a few inches away from the edge when a strange beam zapped him and he disappeared, the blue crystal landed on the edge from the momentum that it still had in it.
“No!” Ronnie called out.
“What happen to Squeaky?”
“I am sorry Marshal but the time lines are very unstable now and your friend has been pulled into another time and place.”
“Will he ever get back?”
“As with your father, there is just no way to know now you must go and fix the timeline there is no time to waist ”
Ronnie picked up the Blue crystal and placed it back in her bag making sure to keep it wrapped up in the cloth, a wall of lights formed in front of them and they both stepped through right into the storm of their lives.

“Now what”

An invisible dome formed above then in just a few second that spanned about ten feet on all sides of the, Ronnie knew that it was the crystal protecting them.
“We must find the place of the missing pylons.”
“I know Ronnie but I don’t know how.”

A small flicker appeared on one side of the dome and flickered repeatedly.
“It must be showing use the way, lets follow it.”
“I sure hope you know what you are doing Ronnie.”
“Well do you have any better ideas?”
“No.”
“Then lets stop wasting time and start following that light.”
After dodging many dinosaurs the two of them finally made it to an clearing in the woods and noticed that the light was sitting on what looked like a disk on the ground, the disk was about 4 feet wide and seemed to have no way to open it.

“Now what do we do, if this is the place how do we get it open.”

Ronnie looked to the sky, it was a dark shade of green a moment later she noticed it starting to turn blue.
“We’ve got to Hurry Bill, the sky is turning blue.”
“I know, but I don’t know what to do to get this thing open, I have tried all the sayings I know and have tried to use my knife but it just want budge.”
In frustration Ronnie stood on top of the disk and began to jump, the disk suddenly open and Ronnie fell in but got hold of the side before she had went to far down.

“Bill! I can’t hold on.”

“Bill grabbed a hold of Ronnie and pulled her back out.”
“Thank Bill, you know sometimes it a good thing to have a brother.”
“Well your welcome: I think.”
“What do you think we should do know, there is no way we can climb down there?”
“I guess we just throw it in.”
“But what if that not the right thing to do?”
They both looked at the sky and seen one small flicker of red go across it.”
“Well that’s all we have time to do throw it in Ronnie! Throw it in now!”
Ronnie quickly pulled the blue crystal from her bag and tossed it into the hole.
A few second later there was a large beam of light coming strait out of the hole, it was so bright that Ronnie and Bill had to shield their eyes form it.

“We did it, Ha ha!” Bill said with a large grin on his face.
“I don’t know Bill, there has got to be more to it that a bright light.”

A mild hum began to grow as the pylons from across the land began to come back to life, energy giving being fed to the from the consumed crystal, Shaboc noticed the humming sound and began to fly toward the river away from the beam of light.

A moment later all the pylons were fully charged and a great beam of light came out the top of each one, each one different in color but all joining with the main white beam to form a beautiful show of radiant light, once all the beams had came together and wave went across the land and the storm stopped as time lines were repaired.

Shaboc had the beast fly low and he jumped off of it landing hard on the ground right in front of Bill and Ronnie.

“So you think you can stop me do you, well I think it’s time I did away with the both of you.”
S’latch stepped up beside Shaboc.
“Well you will have to get through me first Shaboc.”
“So you’re the one are you, you don’t look like much to me.”
Shaboc quickly brought one of his arm up and across S’latches chest using his claw to cut hit as it passed by then he grabbed S’latches shoulder with the same claw and began to pinch.”
S’latch winched in pain as Shaboc cut into his shoulder but he did not try to fight back.
“Why don’t you fight, you are the chosen one are you not!”
“I am the chosen one but I choose not to fight.”
“If you are the chosen one then you can’t refuse to fight, that is the way of things.”
“Not anymore Shaboc, it is time the fighting stopped.”
“You must fight it has always been this way.”
“That is why I choose to stop the fighting now.”
“If you do not fight the you will be my slave.”
“Wrong Shaboc, You see I not only choose not to fight you but to be your friend as well.”
“Why would you want to be my friend?”
“Because the black crystal feeds on hate, it wants us to fight, if we do not it loses its power.”
Shaboc felt weak and released S’latch and stepped back, in panic he ran to the river where he felt safest, but this was not to last as a large water beast soon found Shaboc and came after him.

“Get out of their Shaboc!” S’latch told him from the sure
“No I am a water gruel, I will never sep on land again.”
“S’latch held his head down and the Marshals turned away as the water beast took Shaboc into it’s mouth and slowly chew him up, they could hear his bones as the beast slowly made a meal out of Shaboc and the slowly it returned back to the deep.

“How did you know that he would lose his power if you did not fight him S’latch.”
“I don’t think he did lose his power but he did loose his will and sometimes that is all it takes to loose oneself.”
“I wish you well in your journey to find your father.”
“How did you know that we were looking for our father?”
“I know a great many things.”
“Well do you know were our father is.”
“In a way, you see I know that he is in your hearts as you are in his and because you this I think you will find him someday.”
“Will you help us?”
“I can not but I know someone who can.”
S’latch walked over to a pylon and the door opened and out stepped Elish dressed in a white silk gown, she turned to them and smiled.”
“Elish! How did you get here? Where is our mother?”
“Well once you all fixed things around here the guardians were able to give me a new my body back, you see I never really left you, I am now the first gruel to ever become one of the guardians.”
“How’s that?”
“Well the voice in the orbs chambers is the voice of all the old guardians and when they seen that I was willing to give up my life to become your mother I passed their test, but then your mother was pulled away so one of the guardians did something no guardian has ever did before.”
“And what’s that?”
“Well Ronnie, the guardians were once physical being like you and me but over time they evolved to the point that they no longer needed a body and those sparkles you seen in the water world is all that is left of them now, but one of them gave me the power to come back, she had to give up her life to save mine.”
“So why are you here?”
“The guardians once had a race of beings that they favored but many of these being turned to evil ways and so the guardians left them be.”
“But what does that have to do with us?”
“Because Ronnie, the beings of witch I speak were humans, and the guardians have seen hope for the human race, they have seen it in all the Marshall here in the lands of time, and so they wish for me to help you find your father but me mush go quickly.”
“S’latch spoke up.

Elish, Ronnie and Bill stepped into the pylon and a moment later was gone.


Rick, Will and Holly stepped out from S’latches cave and into the open; a large voice spoke to them.
“Marshall’s, we are the Guardians and we owe you greatly.”
“For what all we did was hide in this cave.”
“The other Marshall have helped use save the lands of time and you have shown yourself to be good people in the past and for the we thank you and reward you.”
“You mean you are letting us go home”
“No young Marshall’s, that is something you must figure out for yourself, but we have repaired your cave and we have placed a force field in it to keep it from ever caving in again there is also a force field on the front door that will only let you in and whoever you allow.”
Will spoke up.
“Does that mean their want be anymore bugs getting is our cave.”
“That is correct Will Marshall, only what you want to enter will be allowed to enter”
“We have also made the cold water from the mountain above flow down through the mountain and into a sink that in now made into the wall, we have did this with a hot water spring from underground as well.”

Holly grabbed a hold of Wills arm.
“Will can you believe it now we will have hot and cold running water.”
“Yea I can’t wait to take a shower, a nice long shower, wait there is a shower right?”
“Yes Will Marshall, there is a shower and few more things you will find use for.”

Rick spoke.
“We thank you for the gifts.”
“It is the least we could do Rick Marshall, now be one your way for the jungles are not as safe as they once were.”

Rick, Will and Holly made it to the clearing where their cave was and stopped to take a good look at it.

Will looked at Holly and then back at the cave.
“You know I sure am glad to see that again.”
“Me too.” Holly replied”
They took a step forward but stopped when they heard a rattle from within the cave.

“What do you think it is dad?”
“I don’t know son you and Holly stay here and I will check it out.”
“But the guardian said there was a force field around the cave now.”
“Well whatever’s there might have been in the cave before the force field have be put up.”
Rick slowly climbed the steps leading up to the cave and then froze in his tracks.
“What is it dad? What’s in there? Is it a monster?”
“No kids, but you might want to see this for yourself.”
Will and Holly hurried up onto the landing of the cave and stood in shock at what they were seeing.”
Standing in the doorway facing Will and Holly was their Mother, her eyes lit up at the sight of them.

Holly reached out and touched her.
“Are you real?”
“Yes Sweaty I am real.”
“But you died.”
“But now I am back, and I am here with you.”
Will looked at his father and said.
“Now we really have to get home.”
“Yes and we will son, we will.”
“Ann touched Rick’s face with one hand and Wills face with the other as Holly hugged her around the waist, and she pulled them all to her and said.
“I am home: I am once again with my family, so I am home.
They all began to cry tears of joy as they all stepped into the cave, the Moon lit the sky as the Marshall turned out the light, Ann lay in Rick arms as they watch the moon in the sky.
“You know Ann this is a hard place to live, there all kinds of dinosaurs and….”
Ann broke in
“What about puddles?”
Rick pulled her close and they both turned to look at Will and Holly as they slept.
“I love you Ann.”
“And I love you Rick Marshall, I love all of you.”

I have said it before, that I will be giving this story a edit.
but after much thought on it, I will be doing a little more than an edit, I have had many fans of the story ask for more so I figured it's about time I wrote this story the way I meant to write it in the first place......... I left a few idea's out because it did not wish to add new story lines in due to time problems but I feel like the story would be better if I added them back in ....... the main one being the part where they return to the waterfall that brought them into the land of the lost in the first place. that was something that should have been in the T.V. show but never was.

now this rewrite is still a way's off but it is on the way... I have to put it off while I work on my other story 'The world within'

The waterfall.....This was going to be chapter two in the black crystal story.

Will pulled the rope back up tight on his shoulder before it could fall, he stopped to look around.
“your lost aren't you” Holly shouted. “No! Holly I'm not lost, I just have to find where I am” Will said as he pulled out his map. Holly slapped her hand on her legs and then raised them into the air shaking her head “ Isn't that the same thing as being lost” “ No, Holly being lost is when you can't find where you are, I will find out where we are, just give me a moment” “ why do you always have to go exploring, you know Dad does not like it when you do that.”
But Holly if we don't explore how would we ever find our way out of here,beside Dad,s not here to Help us explore so we will have to do it ourselves.” “well uncle jack could help us...” Will looked strait into Holly,s eyes “ now Holly I think a lot of Uncle jack just as you do but he's Not the explorer that dad was.” Holly smiled. “ Yea, I know what you mean, if we followed uncle jacks lead we might end up on a world full of Apes or something.” Will laughed “ come on holly a world full of Apes “ “ It could happen “ Yes well that would be better than here.” “ not if the Apes were smart and controled all the humans that lived there.”
“On come on Holly thats crazy.”
will and Holly both laughed and Will went back to studying his map and looking around. “What are you looking for?” holly ask. “ three big rocks right beside each other,they should be around here somewhere.” “you brought me with you to explore three rocks!, Will, your nut's” No Holly the rocks are just landmarks I mapped out to use as a guide.” “Will, could these be the rocks your looking for.” Will turned around to see Holly leaning against one of three rocks.” Will sighed “Yes.” “some explorer you are Will marshal, you couldn't find you way out of the cave without help.” “ Oh Holly come on I know where I am now.” “O.k., but be careful not to trip over these three big rocks.” Holly said with her arms crossed and a smirk on her face.
After they had walked for a few minutes Holly spoke up “So what are we looking for again.” Will stopped, he was facing a partly clear area ahead, he turned to Holly.”Holly, what was the last thing you remember happening before we entered the land of the lost?”
Holly's eye's quickly looked from left to right them back at Will. “I remember being so scared my brain hurt!” “ No, I mean where were we right before we came into the land of the lost?”
“Well we were in our boat going down the river then everything started shaking and we ended up in the land of the lost, why, why do you ask?” because Holly This spot right here” Will turned back around to look ahead of himself . “This area right here in front of us is where we were when we woke up, in the raft So a couple of weeks ago I ended up here when I was looking for one of the pylons.”
Pylon, theres no pylons anywhere around here, Will You have really lost it this time.” “OK Holly let me ask you this, Since your so good at finding things, then wheres the waterfall.” Holly looked at Will With a puzzled look on here face.” “Waterfall, I've never seen a waterfall in the land of the lost.” “exactly. Holly thats what I have been looking for, I mean we came in on a waterfall but yet when we woke up we where on land.” “you know I never thought about it before, I guess I was to busy running from dinosaurs.” “Well look here Holly, I want to show you something.”
Holly walked over and looked at the map that Will had draped over the top of a lard rock.
“Ok Holly,dad and I were making a map of the land of the lost, See right here's the Cave and over heres the lost city.” “Yea so, I don't need a map to find those..”
Yes well we noticed that there seemed to be a sort of order to where the Pylons were located, They seem to form a large square, evenly spaced out around the land of the lost, Now Holly looking at the map do you notice anything strange?' Holly looked at it for a moment the said “No, other than the fact that you have two marked in red” “Yes Holly, You see this red mark right here, that marks that missing pylon, and if you go strait across from the pylon marked with the red X over here, you end up at this other pylon marked with a red X and that spot Holly is right in front of us” A big smile came across Will face as he turned to face the clearing in front of him. “What are you smiling about Will, you better not be up to anymore of your tricks.” “No Tricks Holly I, found it.” “Is that what the ropes for, I'm not going back into another one of those things, the last one tried to have me for lunch.” “ no Holly I would never do that, here let me see your hand.” Will took Holly's hand and placed it on the side of the Pylon, Holly could not see the Pylon but she could feel it. “Oh, it's cold just like the first one we found, but why can't we see it?” “Hey check this out Holly.” Will walked around the back of the Pylon and waved at Holly then leaned up against the pylon. “I can still see you, Wow this is o cool!”
“Yes it's like it's not even here..., Hey Holly now do you think I've been wasting my time with all my exploring?”
“Well most of the time, all you find is trouble.” “ yea but this time it payed off.” “Well it's an invisible pylon, but it's still just another Pylon”
Will walked over to the pylon and placed his hand on the side and found the door release and opened it, A diamond shape door opened in the side, It looked like a hole in space since the door looked like it was floating in the air since the Pylon itself was invisible. “You think it's just another Pylon Holly, follow me.” And with that Will stepped through the door and into the Pylon.
